New, Need Advice!

I'm new to MTG, I've played it with freinds in the past but never owned my own cards. I'm interested in playing casual then competitive later, if I really like the game.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, sorry in advance if it isn't. For around $100 where should I start? I could spend more or less, what would be your recommendations? Thanks

Do you know people inrterested in playing Commander? That's a great place to start and for 100$ you can buy a few (if not all 5) of those premade Commander decks and take it from there.

It's a great format to start with, one of the most enjoyable ways to play magic.

The decks are not fantastic but they contain a lot of very good cards to get you started (I have all 5 decks myself). Play a few games with the decks as they are with your friends then post again and I can give you a list of good commander cards that are worth playing.
