Dimir Aqueduct Rules

I have a question about Dimir Aqueduct.

Dimir Aqueduct

Can I return land that is tapped to my hand in place of Dimir Aqueduct or does the land need to be untapped?

For example if tap all my land lay a creature then want to lay Dimir Aqueduct is this legal?

it says

"return A land you control to it's owners hand"

the only stated condition is that you must control the land.
