"First" deck advice

Okay ive been playing magic since i was little and now after taking a few years off I want to get serious. I don't know too much about decks etc but i know how to use google :D. i have over 1k cards and i'm trying to make an advance deck, any suggestions on where to start would be great. I thought about making a burn deck then decided not to etc and just really need some general advice.
