Delaying shield and personnel sanctuary

Would the combo of a delaying shield and personal sanctuary prevent poison counters as well. Since they are a point of damage?

well, delaying shield and personal sanctuary aren't a combo, they don't interact with each other directly.

the "during your upkeep" effect of delaying shield is 'loss of life', which is not the same thing as 'damage', which is what personal sanctuary prevents.

they are separate game concepts and here's how they relate:

regular damage causes loss of life, but loss of life can happen without damage being involved.

and if damage is caused by a source with infect, then it doesn't result in loss of life but rather in poison counters being gained.

now, since both the cards do prevent damage, they would stop you from gaining poison counters through damage being dealt by a creature with infect, however they would have no impact on spells and abilities that give you a poison counter directly.

Ok so the text on delaying shield says that if you would be dealt damage, put that many delay counters on delaying shield instead, then it transforms this "damage" to "loss of life" at the beginning of your upkeep, well the personal sanctuary only protects you from damage, hence you will still have to pay 1 mana for each life you wish not to lose, the personal sanctuary is not going to prevent this.

Correct, but the OPs question was concerning poison counters, and the prevention of getting those counters.

As Seras said, both cards will prevent you from gaining poison counters from taking damage from sources with infect or poisonous. The only difference will be that Personal Sanctuary will just plain prevent it (providing it's your turn), while Delaying Shield will prevent it, then cause a loss of life (which isn't poison counters) if you don't pay the required mana.
