festrcreep and vigor help!

so, let's say i have vigor and festercreep in play and, for the sake of this question, 3 saprolings (1/1 each)

does festercreep's ability qualify as damage under vigor's ability? In other words, do each of the saprolings gain a +1/+1 counter or do they die?

nope, modifying toughness directly is not damage. Vigor would become a 5/5 for the rest of the turn and all your other creatures would die

thought so...thanks for the clarity.

any thoughts on engaging vigor's ability en masse? i have crypt rats in the deck (i'm trying to keep it mainly green, with a little black and blue)
