titanic growth/virulent wound

say i have a birds of paradise, my opponent casts virulent wound on my birds and i respond with a titanic growth to save it, at the end of the turn both titanic growth's ability and virulent wound's ability disperse. which happens first? do i get a poison counter?

In short, your bird will die at the very end of the turn and you will get a poison counter.

In the case of Virulent Wound and Titanic Growth, obviously after the two resolve, you will end up w/ a bird that is 3/4. During the clean-up step all "until end of turn" effects end, then the game checks for state-based actions. For your scenario, this means that your Birds of Paradise looses it's +4/+4, and since it has a -1/-1 counter on it, it dies. Since the turn hasn't actually ended yet, then the delayed trigger from Virulent Wound triggers and gives you a poison counter.
