[Modern] Green Elf token/counter deck

Hi,
I need your help with building my Elves deck. Every your comment is welcomed.

I hope that I provided you with enough information.

This deck should be based on increasing number of counters and tokens in play. You should by able to get insane number of tokens in play, and these tokens will be growing stronger and stronger every turn.
Furthermore, there is good creatures survivability via regenerate, and "return from graveyard". This deck should by able to withstand enhancements or artefact.
It's tribal deck. Every creature is Elf. And it's "mono green". Some creatures are green/white, but deck contains only green lands.

Average price should be around 100$ (source: mtgvault).

Pleas continue reading and thank your for your attention.

Deck Ideas:

Counters combo:
Joraga Warcaller + Immaculate Magistrate

Tokens combo:
Rhys the Redeemed + Parallel Lives + Elvish Promenade + Mercy Killing + Lys Alana Huntmaster

Card protection:
= Regenerate, graveyard revival and enhancement and artefact destruction
Ezuri, Renegade Leader + Eternal Witness + Nullmage Shepherd

Deck searching:
Fauna Shaman

Flying defence:
- because till now there is no card with reach or flying
Jagged-Scar Archers + Thornweald Archer

Need your help with:

1) Cards add/remove suggestion
I'm open to your card suggestion. I'd like to save the deck idea concept. But the way, how to fulfil it, can be different.

2) Cards count, and ratio relative to other cards
I'm not sure with number individual cards.

Now it should be:

20x Lands : 10x Spells : 30x Creatures

where creatures are:

10x Strong, core of the deck
2 Ezuri, Renegade Leader
2 Joraga Warcaller
2 Rhys the Redeemed
2 Immaculate Magistrate
2 Fauna Shaman

12x Middle, power up or support
2 Nullmage Shepherd
2 Wellwisher
4 Lys Alana Huntmaster
4 Jagged-Scar Archers

8x Starter creatures
2 Heritage Druid
4 Thornweald Archer
2 Wren's Run Vanquisher

And there is complete card list.

So, as a huge fan of elf decks, this post is quite interesting. Unfortunately i don't really see much in the way of tournament viability in this deck (even for modern FNM). What I would reccomend is dropping the amount of threat-based elves in your deck, increasing the amount of mana producing elves (llanowar elves forever!), and running a full suit of Elvish Archdruid to buff the elves you do have.

Right now, at 20 mana, your curve is awkward, especially since you aren't able to use your elf creatures (unless you have Heritage druid in play, which is unlikely since you are only running two.). Elf decks should be able to comfortably balance fast, creature-based aggression while ramping up mana like a boss.

If you just hate running druidelf.dec, then I would recommend increasing your land mass to 23-24 (average mana-curve) to account for this. If you are looking for decent elf decks, I would reccomend following this link: http://www.mtgdecks.net/decks/viewByArchetype/805 . Though each deck is very different, they give a decent place to start creating your own list.

Anyway, I hope this helps you on your way to victory! :)

You seem to contradict yourself here by saying he should up his land count to 23 (which makes no sense to me in an elf deck) and then say he should look at the list of competitive decks you posted where every elf deck in the list runs 15-17 land (which makes much more sense to me).

mike.jt: nice writeup man, I whish everyone would post like this. If I find the time I'll try to help you out. But give it a few days, I'm a bit swamped right now.

Ulimortus:
Nice to meet another elf fan ;-).
About my deck mana curve. There is 65% chance to be able to play any cards with only 3 land. Moreover, most powerful cards are one "G" only.
I didn't tested it in real play, but I think, I shouldn't thirst for mana.
In average situation, in first hand you should have 2 - 3 lands. So even, if no other lands will come you should be able to play decent play.
On the other hand, I admit that this deck is probably slower than average elf deck.
Maybe I can add more mana or "search library for forest" creatures. To maximize profit from strong mana creatures, I think I should add some card drawing mechanism to convert mana to new cards.
I don't see any strong reason to use lot's of weak mana creatures, when you still be drawing 1 card per 1 turn.

After quick search - Card drawing:
Infiltration Lens
Triumph of Ferocity
lead the stampede

Any other ideas ?

Seth:
I appreciate your praise. Thank you. I do my best :D. I'm open to every suggestion.

I've studied different elves deck and finally understand Heritage Druid + Nettle Sentinel + Mentor of the Meek combo,
and importance of having Cloudstone Curio.

So i tried to make new version of my deck.

I'm considering to some "high-end" cards lik Primordial Hydra, Omnath, Locus of Mana or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and so no :D ...

Starter phase
Ezuri's Archers
Llanowar Elves

Core of the deck
Heritage Druid
Nettle Sentinel
Mentor of the Meek
Cloudstone Curio

Finishing move
Joraga Warcaller
Ezuri, Renegade Leader
Door of Destinies

Utilities
Viridian Zealot
Essence Warden
Asceticism

Updated deck:
Well, it's rather than "updated" the whole new deck ...

3x Cloudstone Curio
2x Door of Destinies

2x Viridian Zealot

Regal Force seems to be missing. It's pretty crucial to combo elves.

I was thinking about my last deck suggestion and I'm not sure, if this is a way I want play it. It's nearly (80%) tournament deck. Yes it's strong, but maybe I'm strange, but I don't want such an overpowered deck.

I made a step back to my original deck.

Now I'm rely on:
Card drawing - speed my game
Cloudstone Curio + Elvish Visionary + Mentor of the Meek
+ and as icing on the cake Semblance Anvil

and it's give you some interesting possibilities like Wood Elves (into play, and not tapped ! => 1 forest for :mana2: )

Mana income
tapping: Elvish Archdruid + Llanowar Elves lands: Wood Elves
combo: Heritage Druid + Nettle Sentinel

Deathtouch
I'm loving it :D hmmmm.
Thornweald Archer + Wren's Run Vanquisher + Viridian Longbow
About Viridian Longbow, with deathtouch creature it work like "tap and destroy target creature". Very nice defence.

Strong creatures
Joraga Warcaller + Fauna Shaman + Ezuri, Renegade Leader

Utilities
Asceticism

And that's it !

JMT Elves

Artifacts
3x Viridian Longbow
2x Cloudstone Curio
2x Semblance Anvil

Creatures
4x Thornweald Archer
3x Heritage Druid
4x Nettle Sentinel
4x Elvish Visionary
2x Joraga Warcaller
2x Fauna Shaman
2x Ezuri, Renegade Leader
3x Wren's Run Vanquisher
2x Wood Elves
2x Elvish Archdruid
4x Llanowar Elves
3x Mentor of the Meek

Enchantments
3xAsceticism

Land
5x Plains
10x Forest

Recently I've played quite a lot of different elves decks and so far, while the Heritage Druid, Nettle Sentinel, Elvish Visionary, Cloudstone Curio-combo is fun, I find it bulky and slow. So I build a utility Elf deck, for the Modern Format, that so far seems pretty strong.

The decklist might seem unorthodox, but I assure you the synergy is very great in between cards and I constantly find new interactions in ways I hadn't initially thought of.

Lands:
4x Cavern of Souls
15x Forest

Spells:
4x Summoner's Pact
2x Sundering Growth
2x Harmonize

Artifacts:
4x Lightning Greaves

Planeswalkers:
1x Garruk Wildspeaker

Creatures:
4x Llanowar Elves
4x Elvish Archdruid

3x Heritage Druid
3x Nettle Sentinel

2x Copperhorn Scout
2x Joraga Treespeaker
2x Jagged Scar Archers
2x joraga Warcaller
2x Imperious Perfect
2x Immaculate Magistrate

1x Ezuri, Renegade Leader
1x Viridian zealot
