Question about tapping
When playing the card Serra Advocate and when I want to use the ability stated do I have to attack or not? Because tapping normally means attacking.
Thanks

Tapping to attack and tapping to activate an ability are two different things. For Serra Advocate you'd either have to tap it when you are announcing it as an attacker, or you can tap it to activate it's ability.

tapping is a cost like any other cost. In order to attack you must pay the cost (which requires you to tap unless your critter has vigelance) and if you can't you can't attack. Same for activated abilities thathave Tap in their cost. If your critter is already tapped (for instance because it just attacked) you can't pay the cost required by the activated ability so you can't activate that ability.
