MTG Rulings & Questions
Knotvine Paladin & Glare of Subdual
Hi all,
I have a ruling question to do with the attack and blocking phases in combination with triggered abilities and activated abilities.
I'm running a deck that has:
many exalted creatures
Knotvine paladin
glare of subdual
I'm wondering if it's possible (assuming all the above cards are in play) to attack with only the Knotvine Paladin so it's ability triggers (+1 +1 for all untapped creature you control) then, later tap out any creatures attempting to block using Glare of subdual using the untapped creatures with exalted.
I guess my question is, is it possible to use Glare of Subdual without it decreasing Knotvine Paladin's effectiveness?

Yes, what you want to do is legal. You can announce Knotvine Paladin as your sole attacker. Once you do this, it's ability will trigger and go on the stack. After it resolves, you can then activate Glare of Subdual as many times as you need to, or are able to, and it won't affect your Paladin.
