Call to the Kindred / Extort

Maybe this has been answered already and I just didn't see it yet, but I need some clarification on the way Call to the Kindred works in a certain situation. Does the creature card actually get cast so that you could Extort with it? For example, if I have Crypt Ghast in play and Kindred is on say Gutless Ghoul. If there is a zombie creature in the 5 cards that I put into play, do I get to Extort as well?

the text says "put a creature on the battlefield", that always means that it isn't cast. It's just put into play triggering come in play effects but nothing related to casting.
