Nykthos Shrine to Nyx - have I got this wrong?
Hi,
in the link below Nykthos Shrine to Nyx is exampled like this:
"Turn 1: Play Forest and Elvish Mystic.
Turn 2: Cast Burning-Tree Emissary into Burning-Tree Emissary. Devotion to green is now 5. Play Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and (using the red and green mana left over from Burning-Tree Emissary) tap it for five green mana. Pause to tell your opponent that this is Standard. Not Legacy, not Modern, but Standard. And yet, you have five green mana on turn two. Casually play a second turn Kalonian Hydra and pass the turn.
Turn 3: Tap Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx for seven green mana. Play a second Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx (losing the first one to the legend rule) and go up to twelve mana. Cast Worldspine Wurm because why not."
Read the whole article here: http://www.channelfireball.com/home/spoiler-spotlight-nykthos-shrine-to-nyx/
As the devotion rule do not count land-permanents and triggered abilities, how does the math play out correct in the example for "turn 2"?
Elvish Mystic and Burning-Tree Emissary only have a combine mana cost of 3, why does he say 5 in the article?
I just figured out that he writes TWO "Burning-Tree Emissary". It makes sense now.
