I usually don't crack packs, but I bought a box of Zendikar to draft with friends. Well, the draft didn't end up happening, so I ended up just opening it up myself. Here's the notable rares:

Those are the priciest cards in the box. I feel I got incredibly lucky, as I never expected to get nearly that much valuable cardboard; I usually have the worst luck of anyone. Ever.

My very first deck was Nayas Domain (came with a conflux booster) and a seperate M10 booster. ~90 cards or so but I did get:

The path's a nice suprise but I still think it's far more economical (even accounting trades) to just buy singles carefully. Then again being a jobless college student I admit I'm a bit biased...

I never buy booster boxes, and RARELY get packs, only when I happen to have a few extra bucks. I'm a poor college student too :)

It's actually more expensive here in Belgium, cheapest shop I know is 90Euro for a box (that's well over 100$) and some shops have prices up to 150Euro for a box.

But almost every one in my group buys a box of each set thats being released. That way we have a lot of trades and can borrow cards from eachother for tournaments.

I just bought a Worldwake box for 90USD from my local shop. I thought the euro was 1.5 USD?


Oh, and between that box, the prerelease, and the release party, I've pulled Jace, 4 Dual Man-lands, an Abyssal Persecutor, gotten 5 Joraga Warcaller promos, Thada Adel (EDH staples are always nice), Basilisk Collar (out of the box, not during draft sadly), Two DoJ (one foil), and a foil Marshall's Anthem. Pretty good pulls, and I won the Release draft proper, so I think I did pretty okay.

Also, two Goliath Sphinx in a box is not cool.

The Euro's worth ~1.37 Dollars, I believe.

And I wish my local shop sold Booster boxes for ninety bucks! You can expect to pay at least $120 for one where I live. Of course, it's concievable to get a box closer to seventy-five on eBay, but I'd like to support a local business and all that... or, more like I'm really impatient and hate the bidding process.

Totally understandable. I'm a regular at that shop, so I can snag a ten dollar discount on big stuff like that every now and again. They're back up to 100 now. If I'd bought a fat pack as well, it'd only be 80, but I didn't have near enough for both.

thats what i ben tryin to get my friends to do but they keep spending thier money on expensive singles that they dont even need

like just the other day one of my friends went out and spent $60 on a playset of the g/b fetch lands and non of us play landfall and im the only one who plays black
the others play r/w or u/g totaly pointless

double post! Also, fetch lands tend to retain their value better. Verdant Catacombs (G/B) is run in Jund, and there may be other Standard and/or Extended decks in the future that use them. Having a playset of each fetch is a good investment if you play competitively.

Cardboard Crack!!!!

Yep. One guy I know bought 5 zendi's and got 2 fetchlands and a lotus cobra. I got a Great Sable Stag, two Guul Draz Specter's, an Archmage Ascension, and a foil Holy Strength.

On the bright side I did get a fair number of other cards that were actually USEFUL to me even though they aren't really worth anything.

I just got :mana1: Omnath, Locus of Mana and :mana2: Jace, the Mind Sculptor ! :D

I know someone who got a zendikar fetchland, but i don't understand why they're 20$ a pop.

Because they give you an untapped land of one of two colors while also thinning your deck. For example my mono-green lifegaining token sprouting elf deck could be 8 cards thinner if I used fetchlands and I wouldn't affect the odds of me drawing and having usable land from what it was before.

I`m prolly the most pitiful MTG player. of all time, the only 2 cards that actually are worth something, was Arcbound Ravager and Darksteel Forge. That`s it. Everything else has always been trading material, actually these two aswell.
The last two boosters i bought had a Temporal Extortion and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth which isn`t so bad, but could have been better.

very first pack i got of worldwake was a dragonmaster outcast and shiny eye of ugin. i then went on to pull a mythic from at least every three packs of worldwake. i pulled at least one of every mythic. a deck set of avengers of zendikar lol and a deckset of omnath

Bought a M11 Core Set booster box thing and pulled a Primeval Titan, Baneslayer Angel, Liliana Vess, and an Ajani Goldmane. The other cards were alright I guess. I ended up selling the Baneslayer and Primeval for another box which got me 2 Birds of Paradise (one foil) and w/e the other cards were. I'm a little bummed now that I don't have the Primeval or Baneslayer anymore. Oh well, at least I can say that I got them YEAH!

I went to an an m11 booster draft a few weeks ago. Out of the 24 boosters there were 4 mythic rares. An Inferno Titan, a Sun Titan, and 2 Baneslayer Angels. I got one of the baneslayers =D

I've bought like 19 boosters in my life, so far Ive got a baneslayer, ajani goldmane, and a frost titan. I also have a birds of paradise, knight exemplar, 2 serra ascendants, and.....thats all I remember.
I think this luck easily makes up for me never getting that Charizard when I was a kid.

no baneslayers and no titans...best was a diabolic tutor, nantuko shade and haunting echoes...yeah...not what I expected..and I was totaly hate drafted :D...any way lets hope for better times during next weeks draft....

I bought 2 packs of m11 a week ago. And pulled Chandra Nalaar. My brother pulled a Birds of Paradise. And I managed to snag that off him. :D And I also got

My family got a box of Scars today. Pulled a Geth, Koth, and Mox Opal so far for mythics.

Opened up 2 boxes and 1 fatpack of SoM last week.

i've pulled a venser which is the next thing to the only card i wanted which was elspeth and i got an elspeth for my venser and i got trade stock which i traded for a fourset of
etched champion tempered steel along with getting a fourset of glint hawks and memnites which i wanted.

Haven't bought any boosters from the Scars or M11 set yet. Unless you count the boosters from two Scars Intro Packs. In that case the only two notable things I recieved were Quest for the Holy Relic and a Lux Cannon.

However, I'm going to the draft tourny at my local store this Wednesday. Been brushing up on current drafting tactics and I feel fairly confident. We'll see if the Wizard Gods decide to smile on me. 4x Baneslayers + 4x Jace TMS GOGOGO!!!

I don't even like the Mox cards personally. I mean, I guess it's three mana on turn 2, which would rock, but other than that, not much really.

Just haven't played enough decks where I see Mox's shine due to ridiculous mana acceleration.

At the rise of eldrazi prerelease my friend pulled 2 sarkhans in one pack, one foil and one normal!

I bought myself two intropacks from Scars.

In the boosters I received a Koth and The blight dragon(Foil)

Today I bought 5 regular packs. Foil Premoral Titian and an Inferno Titan. My friends also bought packs, one got a mythic but nothing as good (a mox I think)

I bought a box of SOM and 'split' it with a friend who went in for $18 to get 6 packs. HE opened a Koth, and the nice angel... grr...

Usually my other friend and I open all the packs, then trade off pulling cards and split the $$, then we both get even share.
