The Way We Play
First of all these are House Rules that we play by, skepticism can not be avoided for the rules that I'm about to outline here:
1. 2 card pick-up
2. 2 Land down
3. 14 max. Hand
4. No Mana-Burn (most skeptical)
5. 120 max. library
6. last but not least HAVE FUN!!!!!:D:D
This equates to a faster paced game that me and fellow players enjoy:D, please feel free to post your alternate rules and thoughts regarding The Way We Play. As it is interesting to hear the alternate ways that everyone plays the game.
This is a example deck that I intend to use so please feel free to comment on it: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=40587
Thank you
This is broad-casted to you by The Concerned Gamer

For a really fast and hazardous game there are these as well:
1. 4 pick-up
2. 4 land down
3. infinite Hand Size
4. No Mana-Burn (most skeptical)
5. 120 max. library
6. last but not least HAVE FUN!!!!!
So there is a really fast game for you that's quite fun to play :D

To clarify these are house rules we do know the proper rules as well just we play with 4 players most of the time and we just like to have a few games rather then just 1 and then have to leave.

Sounds like the common variant for HS and below lunches which are usually only 30min long or less: Draw more than one card, play more than one land, and usually no or high hand limits.
Just fyi though mana burn was removed from the game officially, and afaik the only upper limit on library size is that you need to be able to shuffle it yourself.

Tournament Rules:
7 Card Hand, Max
No Free Mulligans
45 Minute Rounds
No Proxy Cards
Causal:
Same, as Tournament but Proxy Allowed and no time limit.
Multiplayer:
Always Draw card on first turn
Other than those rules we just play usual Magic.

Interesting, so how often do you and your friends play tourney rule matches?
Me and my mates always play with 120 deck libraries when we play against one another so time restrictions sorta make it less fun, but as we play with the other rules listed above the games run about 45 minutes anyway :D

I thought even sanctioned tournaments gave a free mulligan on a hand that was all or no land.

No
We play multiplayer games mostly (emperor, 2 headed giant, pentagram or free for all). Most guys in our group play big decks packed with card draw and solutions. Heavy control decks ranging inbetween 80 and 300+ cards. I personaly like singleton decks (highlander, EDH. I currently have 6 well tested EDH decks) as these types of games are usually very interesting due to lots of variaty of what is being played. Every game is different.
cheers

First time playing, I've seen a lot of big combos/attacks. Especially, the way we play, we don't always attack outright and like to build up the armies.
So, we sometimes up the life counter to 40. So it makes having that big creature out and ax your opponent down fun! :)

I play every week, usually on Sunday. Release events usually on Friday or Saturday depending on schedule. And the OLD rule was that there was a free Mulligan on a No Land hand, but they changed it. Its been changed a very long time.

Me and some mates had a match the other day as a two-headed giant variant that was quite fun.
The rules are as follows:
1. Shared Life of 40.
2. Team-mates Spells can affect your creatures (basically for Stat-Boosting).
3. Draw 2, 2 Land Down, Combined Grave/Exile Zone.
4. Combined Mana between the two players on the teams! (that's one that makes it insane yet so fun at the same time)
5. We also double any abilities for drawing cards or making players lose life and vice versa.
6. Have Fun! (I can't stress that enough these days cause there is nothing worse than turning a new player away from the game over a petty squabble)
Then there's the variant that just changes Rule 3 to:
3. Draw 4, 4 Land Down, Combined Grave/Exile Zone.
So give it a try cause it is really fun and allows for some awesome combos like: a :manag: Deck being covered by counter-spells from a :manau: or a :manaw: Deck protecting a :manab: till it can build mana for a powerful life sap.

Sounds like a 2 card/land down variant of two-headed dragon.

yeah, back before I got into competitive magic (fun, but you can never go back to casual, it's just not the same), we played 2HG a lot. We tried the shared mana thing all of twice, banned it and never looked back. It was sooooo overpowered, it was ridiculous.
