Where'd you find that price, and personally most of the cards I'd consider useful have usually been rares. Although there are quite a few good commons and uncommons out there I think you'd be better off buying $30 in boosters than specifically a com/uncom set-of-4 pack.

I have to agree with Shadowex3; the commons and uncommons aren't really appealing as a whole. It seems like most small sets suffer from a power disparity between rarities. Honestly, I wouldn't buy a playset of the commons/uncommons at all from Zendikar and just look for picking up playsets of the few good cards that are in those rarities. That's Smother (if you don't already have it), Leatherback Behemoth, Urge to Feed, and Everflowing Chalice? Yu could get that for much less than thirty bucks.

I've actually done the math, a bunch of times, unless you've got a job with some income specifically set aside for magic boosters every paycheck or something it's never worth it to buy anything but singles of exactly the card you want.
