Originally had 4x The Rack in this deck, but had to tune it down a bit. Play tested this against my other casual decks and it was far too strong. Emptied my wifes hand in 2 turns, then had The Rack x2 out before turn 4. Not much she could do at that point. Played 3-4 games and they all played out in the same manner.Hypnotic Specter is the star of this deck. With him + Dark Ritual he can be on the board on turn one. Duress and Wrench Mind for discard. Hymn of Tourach is strictly better than Wrench Mind but I prefer the new card frame and this is also casual so it doesn't have to be super efficient.I put some removal in to allow my guys to get through to do damage, as well as a few Gatekeepers to force sacrifices. Along with Nyxathid this should allow for the win.I put Liliana in here because I have one that's not being used anywhere else and triggering her ultimate is a possible win condition. I don't expect it to happen all that often though.Phyrexian Arena provides massive card advantage and is easily worth the cost of life every turn. If you put The Rack in, you should be in very good shape before you run out of lives. Vampire Nighthawk should also help offset some of the life lost.Update:Added a Mutilate x2 at the expense of Grasp of Darkness. Need a way to deal with weenies and this should help a bit. It'll clear out the board and with Phyrexian Arena I should be able to draw more creatures than the opponent.Still tuning this. Sideboard is card ideas, not an actual sideboard.
I usually start with Dark Ritual + Hypnotic Specter if in starting hand. Otherwise I'd do Dark Ritual + any discard spells that add up to three (like Duress + Wrench Mind, or Duress + Augur of Skulls). Any other starting hand, just try and play discard as soon as you can.- Wrench Mind before Augur of Skulls on turn two as it's faster.- Hypnotic over Nighthawk on turn three.- Nyxathid once opponent is low on cards.

I absolutely love the deck, disgustingly good. Just curious though, why not Liliana of the Veil over Liliana Vess? I get that it's only target player discarding, but Veil is cheaper in mana cost. I suppose it's the resources at hand, but I just am curious.
I own a Liliana Vess cars that I'm not using. Hence I put her in because I have the card already. I might take her out just because by the time she hits the table her +1 is mostly useless. Her ultimate is sort of nice, but I could probably fit a better card in there.Liliana of the Veil would probably work well in this deck, but she costs too much. I only play casually with friends so I generally don't spend more than a few bucks per card. If I could afford her, I'd probably put 2 of her in. Her -2 would be great to have.

Great deck ! A different kind of aggro to my mono black discard.I would say go for Bloodgift Demon over Phyrexian Arena for a choice of who draws and loses life, and also helps out your mana curve.Would highly recommend the Guul Draz Specter, saved me a few times and is huge for 4 mana, also helping the curve.Thanks again for your comment on my deck :)
Bloodgift is nice in that it's a 5/4 body as well as phyrexian arena effect, but the mana cost is a tad high I think when running only 20 swamps. I might give it a test run though, and see how it plays. It's a cheaper $ card than PA is which is always a bonus.I had Guul Draz in an early playtest of the deck and it played ok but I dropped in favor of the Nighthawk. While it's nice, and usually is 5/5 after turn 5 or so, I found that lifelink and deathtouch was a better trade off. None-the-less it's a great card.
