Actually, "killing me softly" is not that accurate, 'cause sometimes this deck can just get your opponent's sorry ass handed to him really quick.Good ol' ally mechanics, heh ? Played this deck for a long time before it became somehow obsolete - still pretty fun to play, I'm waiting for the Orzhov cards of gatecrash to refresh it.Gain life/damage mechanics, with a lot of creature control and aggressive gameplay at mid-point.
The basic stuff is : Ondu cleric + Hagra Diabolist. You put a creature on the field : direct damage + gain life equal to the total number of creatures. You control adversary's blockers with your B&W spells and enchantments, and then attack massively with your other guys that just gains +1/+1 tokens every time you play a creature spell. That's a bit slow on the beginning of the game, but can become really efficient and rapid on round 3.Chalice of life is FTW, but if you got your cleric in the early game against a control/combo deck, it can become pretty annoying for your adversary to lose his life 5 by 5. Exquisite blood is not essential but it can accelerate the game after round 5 - little bonus with a boosted brigand/sell-sword/swordsman plus the vault : double life gain if he's not blocked.If you play against a control deck, you'd want to add some Narrow Escape to your deck, protecting your creatures from certain death, and permitting to activate the ally mechanics one more time. Disentomb is always a good choice, IMO, in a black deck with a lot of creatures. Kor Skyfisher is a cool card too, being pretty powerful and permitting to make your cleric come and go efficiently.
