Deck Description

My take on the Birthing Pod deck.
I've seen a lot of versions using cards like Vengevine, Baneslayer, Abyssal Persecutor, just going up through the ranks one big swing at a time, maybe capping out at a Gaea's Revenge or something. I don't think it will work that well because...well...u just end up with one decent creature, then sac it for a slightly better one. So what? Response: Doom Blade.

My version focuses less on what I'm swinging with each turn, and more on what I'm gaining from each sac. The main theme is Golems; using the Splicers and Precursor to spawn them in, I can build a decent army while getting up to Elesh Norn. This way, I keep a lot of creatures handy, instead of just sacing for a replacement; and instead of one fatty, I have army of decent creatures handy.

I included some more typical creatures just to have a variety of responses:
Wurmcoil - lifelink and token spawn
Baneslayer - lifelink
Mitotic Slime - token spawn, safer than Precursor against Lightning Bolt
Still thinking about Vengevine, I just don't think its really worth it just to swing once. I'd rather get a golem and sac into a Precursor.

Sheoldred and Sun Titan really complete the deck - use continually bouncing Blade Splicer means endless tokens, and with both praetors on the field its game over.

Thinking about splashing red for Tuktuk, which would make this essentially a rainbow deck...not sure if it's worth it though, better than Blade Splicer but I can only use one. Quest for the Gravelord is another way to go, but probably not worth it.

The only bad part about this is that the deck has a lot of cards I don't want to see in my hand. The only things I want to have are Birthing Pod, lands, and some spells for control. That's why card draw is so bad in this deck - you draw Sheoldred, or something else really good, and can't play it. Some decks try to use the draw and just play creatures out of hand; I have some that are cheap enough, its all possible, but it's annoying to draw things I can't use.
