Deck Description

I was stuck between making G/W Aggro or R/G Aggro. R/G Aggro hasn't been seeing nearly as much love (likely because it's not as good...you know, Fleecemane, Soldier of the Pantheon, Sunblade Elf, etc), so I decided to see what I could do with it.

How to Play

Attack, fool! This is aggro to the extreme. The only exception here is Elvish Mystic, which does a couple of interesting things for the deck:
Your powerful turn 3 plays, such as Rabblemaster or Fanatic of Xenagos, can happen on turn 2, and it gives this deck a little bit of lee-way with higher drop cards, such as Polukranos (who is, of course, quite the power-house) and Xenawalker himself.

But if the Mystic isn't ramping, then good old Swiftspear is stabbing your opponent in the face, with a nice War-Name Aspirant follow-up or perhaps an Heir to the Wilds. The Heir may seem like a weird choice, but his ferocious will trigger with Polukranos and Rabblemaster, and death touch makes opponents less willing to block him.

And burn spells. Because burn spells.

Sideboard - Destructive Revelry was aimed at Courser of Kruphix - I can't wait to do that to someone. Other than that, Magma Spray for other aggro match-ups, Mistcutter Hydra for control, and Arbor Colossus for when you need some more beef.

Deck discussion for Standard - GR Aggro

Could I simply point out that GR not seeing play isn't completely correct. It might not be getting the attention of say Jeskai Burn or Abzan Midrange but it did just win GPLA and GR Devotion is showing up pretty consistently. Oh and even if you're aggro running Courser/Caryatid in any green deck should be a serious consideration. Maybe not as 4 ofs but 2-3 of each is still a major advantage. I'd suggest setting up some of the other key GR cards like Stormbreath and Hornet Queen in the sideboard for if you find yourself needing to play a long game. Otherwise looks good.

Ah, I meant aggro style decks such as this, but you're correct, there are plenty of RG builds running around. Courser is very good, I'm just not sure of his fit in this deck. Sideboard always changes based on your particular meta, but those are good cards to keep in mind. Thanks for the feedback!
