Deck Description

Another deck that I hope to post about on mtgheadquarters.com. Originally made for my girlfriend, it's actually a really fun and effective deck.

Updated with M14. Voracious wurm does some serious work in here

How to Play

Race to 30 life, drop a chalice, and pour cyanide down their throats...okay maybe not quite as graphic. Combo tree of redemption and rhox faithmender for stupid shenanigans. Record life total of 114372.

Deck discussion for Don't Drink the Kool-Aid...

Faithmender doesn't combo with Tree of Redemption. Faithmender says "if you would gain life" while Redemption says "exchange your life total." Since you are exchanging life instead of gaining, Faithmender does not trigger so you would still only get 13 life.

Cool idea and it looks like a fun deck anyway though.

701.8g A spell or ability may instruct a player to exchange two numerical values. In such an exchange, each value becomes equal to the previous value of the other. If either of those values is a life total, the affected player gains or loses the amount of life necessary to equal the other value.

Life is still gained and still doubles from the faithmender. An exchange that increases value counts as a gain, just as the first time would be a life loss, and any "if this player loses life" effects trigger. Thanks though :)

Quick question; if your life total would be higher than 13 and you tap Tree, wouldn't that count as "loses the amount of life necessary to equal the other value"? Therefore not "gaining" life or triggering Rhox?

Assuming 20 life: tap tree, lose 7 life, tree becomes 0/20. Next turn, tap tree again and gain 7 life back, which doubles to 14, life total is 27. Then over the next two turns, tap to lose 14 and tap again to gain 28. The growth continues exponentially.

Well I'll be damned sir, I feel quite stupid. And here I was feeling like a smart guy by going off the cards alone.

Thank you for the correction, and carry on the good work.

Well if nothing else I learned something thanks to that rule you posted.
Also look into Boon Reflection. I prefer it to a creature most of the time.
