Deck Description

Who knew a man of the wild could get along so well with mad scientists... I like to think this is what would happen if Bear Grylls and Stephen Hawking made a RUG deck.

I am so excited for Gatecrash, the Simic guild will flow into this deck very nicely.

Comments, criticism, and suggestions are all welcome. I'd be glad to return the favor also, just post the decks here. :) I'm most knowledgeable of standard, but I'll try to help with other formats too.

How to Play

Turn one is almost always just a land (unless I side in pillar of flame against zombies, and they play a worthy target on turn 1). Turn 2 is preferably farseek, and then turn 3 is a huntmaster. From there, passing turn is a viable removal option, followed by an instant or two. Thragtusk, tamiyo, and jace are amazing for turn 4. Once the board is full enough on your side, an overloaded cyclonic rift will usually win the game. If not, deadeye navigator bonded to huntmaster, snapcaster, or thragtusk is absolutely amazing.

Deck discussion for Huntmaster of Nivix

Wow! Very soild deck that has very good synergy; this would be a very annoying deck to deal with. Throw in a few Guttersnipe's and the deck would turn massively OP. Very nice deck though.

Thanks you! I had snipes before, but they kinda slowed down huntmaster....do you think they would be better than the staticasters?

They might be only because you have so many instants and sorcerys that if you have 2 Guttersnipes out you're dealing 4dmg for each instant or sorcery on top of other combat dmg you are doing.

Maybe you could throw in some goblin electromancer or something like that. It makes your instants and sorcerys cheaper. This way you could play your spells faster...

Very tight deck man! The only thing i can think of is Quirion dryad for some early game presence possibly sideboard for quicker decks and I agree with you on the guttersnipes this deck is focused more on the creatures the instants and sorcerers are there for backup guttersnipe works best in the opposite... Anyway like the deck man keep up the good work

Thank you! I actually used to run a playset of quirions in here, but I ended up taking them out when I put farseek in... I agree that theyre good early creatures, but against aggro theyre just chump blockers, and my instants are good enough stallers to get huntmaster or some other bomb out. But thanks for checking it out anyway, I appreciate every comment
