Deck Description

Polukranos has awoken...we must herald the World-Eater's return.

Alduin ain't got shit on hydras.

Yet another master biomancer deck from your resident simic mage. Hes holding a baby hydra, it had to be done. Sideboard is a work in progress and mostly just stuff that I like. This is my competitive standard deck for the next few months so comments and criticism are welcome, but this isn't intended to win pro tours or anything. Just a fun deck to play that is good enough to compete.

Deck discussion for Hydra Tribal

I don't think is tournament quality just yet...
I honestly think adding blue isn't worth it in this deck
Sure Vorel is a pretty nice addition but when your hyrdras are already like 5+/5+ there's no reason to add even more counters...
Same with Master Biomancer. Not worth the 4 mana.

My suggestion is you take out the blue and put in more green mana ramp cards

And rancor...
Why haven't you put rancor into this deck yet

Sorry to say I don't think this deck is worth the 300 bucks for it's effectiveness

Yeah I was thinking the same kinda...
Vorel is a bit "win more"
And master biomancer was just a good 4 drop. He seemed better than do nothing and wait to cast decent hydras. I just like how he effectively makes everything cheaper and allows a 5/5 double striker on turn 4 (assuming farseek). Ifbthe mythic 4 drop hydra from theros is better than 4 mana do nothing, I will probably drop blue (unless we get a blue hydra...)

Didn't really need the reach in any testing. Either I got big enough because of vorel to attack for ~10 and blood for game or I used kessig for trample. If I take out blue ill put in rancor and ghor clan rampager. Also rangers guile to replace simic charm. The charm has saved my ass so many times. Lol.

That's because it isn't worth $300 :p kalonian hydra is really inflated right now, when he comes down this deck will be around $200, half of which can be attributed to the shock lands.

As I said in the description, not meant to win any pro tours. I honestly just got bored of my old rug deck (which was DEFINITELY tournament ready lol) and wanted a more fun deck. So far this deck works fine enough in my meta for me. But seriously, its a hydra deck, how competitive can it be? :p

Fair enough
I love hydras to bits
Most badass creature type in the game without a doubt
(next to dragons of course)

Hydra decks in general tend to be "win more" just because of the fact that if you do manage to get a hydra down before your opponent is prepared for it, you've basically won from there

Good luck with your further tweaks :)

Oh yeah hydras are amazing. Can NOT wait for Theros xD

Thanks, if I make that RG version I'll post it here, your input would be nice there too
