Deck Description

RUG Cyclops deck made by the suggestion of ekgamer936. Kinda budgety, all of my rug shock lands are occupado. Chromatic lantern is in here to ensure we can cast multiple spells a turn, with the land being so shaky.

How to Play

Cyclops, artful dodge, and pumps spells for game ASAP. Quick but fragile...

Deck discussion for RUG Cyclops

That's a lot of pump spells for only 4 creatures. You definitely need more creatures in a deck like this

Good point, didn't really think if that. He just seemed like the perfect target.

Ill test it with these 8 and see how it works. As long as I get one creature out it should work. This isn't meant to be anything more than a casual standard deck btw, I won't be attempting this at any tournaments

Why Weapon Surge instead of Dynacharge?

Meh...Id just aim not not have to worry about the first strike in the first place. Dont let them have a blocker!

He's right Gas, you have artful dodge. Just Dynacharge.

DAMN GAS I LOVE IT!!!! I'll swing with fluxcharger - ok I'll take it it's only 1... - Cast rush of blood, take 10 damage. Or even better. (as long as you have the mana), combo into a swing for the win. All onto flux charger, let each one resolve - Phytoburst, 10/6, Artful dodge, 6/10 unblockable, swing, rush of blood 20/6 unblockable. Of course cyclops does the same thing....

Thanks!! Seemed like a fun idea. For $15, cant complain. And even with that artful dodge part, fluxchargers ability is a "may" ability. Armed and rush of blood is game the turn after he enters :p

But you will want to switch it so you can get it to power 20 :)

Guttersnipe/Talrand, Sky Summoner/Delver of Secrets/Blistercoil Weird/Nivmagus Elemental(/Melek, Izzet Paragon) all want to be in this deck! But honestly, put at least some Guttersnipes in. The 2 damage is sorta like a +2/+0 pump with unblockable damage and you really need more targets for those pump spells. Or switch Phytoburst with Searing Spear, it will still pump/switch your creatures but is useful on its own.

Hey another good card may be gruul charm which will make your cyclops unblockable

No. Just no. Sorry but he already has 4 Artful dodge. that's plenty of unblockable there.

And has flashback. And Gruul charm doesn't stop flyers from blocking.

Did a lot of testing with my version and I think you could ditch green completely, together with the lantern. Instead of pump spells it's better to have removal or card draw for your "spell eaters". Think Twice turns the Cyclops into a 4/4 while drawing you the next card to pump him more, Mizzium Mortars make sure you don't need Artful Dodge every time. Also Guttersnipe is really good for this deck, you should lower the amount of Fluxchargers for a better curve :)

I actually have a version without green, with guttersnipe, mizzium mortars, and 3 fluxchargers... xD I agree though, that one runs far more smoothly. Thanks!
