Simic Deckout

by Gaspartacus on 01 August 2013

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Use 1/1 counters, master biomancer, zegana, bioshift, and fathom mage to draw the deck out quick and play a lab maniac. Activate zameck guildmage immediately after playing lab maniac to win right away, or just use simic charm to protect him for a turn. Not competitive, just fun. Thanks to JRE47 for the idea.

Deck discussion for Simic Deckout

I can see the very neat interactions here, and it's a great way to try and deck yourself, but I must be missing how Guildmage can win immediately when Maniac gets on to the battlefield. I can pretty easily see 4-5 cards a pop, at least, but the draw ability requires {G}{U}, so even with the ramp you'll eventually run out of open mana. Or am I missing something obvious...?

When maniac hits the field I will have my deck already drawn out. Use the two mana ability to draw a card, no cards left, win. Basically I just won't play him until I draw everything lol

Ah, gotcha. Maybe consider Give // Take? Probably good at least for the sideboard to help you draw, add counters, or both as necessary. Somewhat crazy with Fathom Mage. I might even swap it in instead of Bioshift. I love Bioshift too, but I think Give // Take would generally be more useful for you.

Just a thought!

Gas, maybe sideboard savage summoning just in case the opponent mills you out before you are ready, or counters / kills your maniac on you. Don't forget you can Traumatize yourself too ;) Half your deck gone there. Nice idea though. See what you think of mine, basically all about annoying stallers :)

I built a similar deck and found that ghostly flicker was a great card to run. especially if you have two biomancers and the prime speaker.

Gas, with some of the new spoilers out I have gotten an idea for a great deck.

Turn1 - Land (we're going for Naya colours here)
Turn 2 - Land, Sylvan Caryatid
Turn 3 - Land, Fabled Hero.
Turn 4 - Land, Selesnya Charm (+2 and 1 counter), Ordeal of Purphoros(1 counter), attack (1 counter, sac enchantment for 3 damage), giant growth(+3 and 1 counter), trampling through for 22 with double strike... Whaddya think??

If you can pull all of those cards in one game, sounds really good. Just a bit tricky to pull off

Oh yeah very, but there is Messenger's Speed now too. So now all the cards have been spoiled what do you think?

I reeeally like this set. I'm a huge fan of flavor and I can find something about every card that I like. Plus drafting this set is going to be amazing. As for constructed, there are a lot of nice edh cards, and a lot of "build around me" cards for standard. My favorites are probably prophet of kruphix, triad of fates, underworld cerberus, and both hydras. What do you think overall?

Same. Flavour flavour flavour. Delicious amounts of sweet juicy greek-roman theme it's amazing... Triad of Fates will need ALOT of backup, but I can see good things. Already looking at making my Junk deck for the new Standard format, and Erebos' Whip is amazing for this... And Rescue from the Underworld. I wanna wreak havoc with Akroan Horse and Purphoros as well. "It's a horse, no it's ok you can have it.." "oh look a 1/1 soldier token, that'll be 2 life please...." R/W deck using Akroan horse and Assemble the Legion With Heliod and Purphoros.. See like you said, too many damn good ideas!!
