Deck Description

Typical, well rounded unburial rites deck updated with some Gatecrash stuff. Relies on big fatties to close out the game. This is my second deck I have actually put together to make a change from my monowhite. I will be taking this to the game day tomorrow.

How to Play

Usual unburial routine of dumping as much as you can in the graveyard as quickly as possible to get fatties out turn 4 or 5. Against aggro you have turn 1, 2 and 3 responses to slow them down. Centaur healer, although weaker, is a faster response than thragtusk that is needed to help stabilise with the ridiculous aggro decks running rampant. All you normally need to stop them is serenity or gisela so make sure you get to that point.

I'm not 100% convinced on the other fatties in this deck but adephage deals well with awkward situations by being able to throw itself in and even if it dies it's still making copies of itself. Borborygmos is fun, but I'm mainly using him as I don't own any other fatties to put in here, perhaps griselbrand would be better but I don't own any at the moment. However, his ability to 'throw' lands is incredibly using in a deck full of digging in the first place and can easily close out the game the turn he arrives if you already have gisela in play. (but you should be winning anyway)

Vault of the Archangel is absolutely insane with any of the creatures here, even if aggro manages to break through early on if you can get the vault in play a single fatty can stabilise you completely. There is potential to fit a second vault in here if need be, perhaps in replacement for a godless shrine, but again, I don't own a second one. Despite only running 22 lands in a deck full of fatties and being 4 colour, the mana-base is perfect (after extensive testing) and along with digging spells usually provides you with enough to play a land every single turn, even up to turn 8 in a lot of games. You are more than capable of playing the long game and simply hard-casting your fatties later on if need be, using Serenity to reclaim them from the graveyard if you wish (centuars are good targets for this and provide insurance if serenity dies)

Overall I've really enjoyed this deck and it seems to be coping well. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
