Just got interested in Commander, so naturally all the pre-set decks from Wizards are sold out in my area (and high $$ online). So, I'm starting from scratch with a decent pool of cards from Core 2012 forward and I'm looking for advice. Advice on what cards to get is appreciated, but I am also looking for tips on deck-building in EDH in general (size/quantity of creatures, removal, etc.). Thoughts on strategy: Commander is Saffi Eriksdotter, so I've tried to build around recursion/ETB effects. Cathar's Crusade is my go-to win condition through massive creatures (Increasing Devotion) or a multitude of tokens (Pentavus). Champion of Lambholt also provides the opportunity for unblockable creatures. Thinking about cutting Herald of War, Angel of Glory's Rise if I can find better options--Angelic Arbiter is a possibility, and I'd love to get a Sigarda, Host of Herons as well.

I have an issue with the general you picked out because it has to die. Anytime a general goes back to the commander zone it costs 2 more colorless to play it next time around. She will become unreasonably expensive fast even for EDH

I run a saffi edh and this deck is not what saffi is supposed to be doing. Saffi is meant to be an infinite combo deck. There are 3 creatures that infinite with her: sun titan, karmic guide, and reviellark. With these and any sack engine you infinite whatever that sack engine does (i can infinite mana with phyrexian/ashnods altar, infinite damage with blasting station, and infinite draw with greater good). Also if you have soul of the harvest out when you are doing this you get inite draw (if you are generating infinte mana same goes with skull clamp)
