Deck Description

This is my version of what was once known as "The Rock." The idea is to get Braids + Squirrel Nest going, sacrifice a squirrel each turn while the opponent is sacrificing actual resources, a process accelerated with lots of removal (Grave Pact, Diabolic Edict, etc), while bringing aggressive attacks provided by Call of the Herd, Spiritmonger and Kokusho.

The name is in reference to the land (Tainted Woods). I used it in my first version of this deck years ago.

I've always referred to this as an "aggro-control" deck, but as that wasn't an option, I went with theme-based (the theme obviously being sacrifice).

I posted this deck a while ago for a deck challenge here; just gave it a quick polish again for my "Green And" challenge.

There's really not much else to say except it's a really fun deck!

A friend of mine recently challenged me to build a series of decks. We were discussing color splashing and I said (as I am sure many will agree) that green is the easiest color for splashing as it splashes well and naturally with any other color.

So he challenged me to do a "Green And" series. I have 24 hours to build a deck that is "Green And" each color, to demonstrate my premise. The Judges (our other friends) later ruled that this includes "Green And Green." In addition, I have to have at least one each of Tribal, Aggro, Control, Combo and Creatureless (though these are permitted to overlap), to demonstrate versatility.

This one covers green-and-black, and as I would refer to it as "aggro-control," I'm saying it covers both.

Once I have them all posted, I will post the links in another comment. I hope you will look at and comment on each!
