Deck Description

Phoenix's have always been among my favorite mythological creatures and was excited when I discovered them in Magic. However they didn't seem that popular, so I decided to make the best deck I could by fusing the ability flying with haste.

How to Play

I designed this deck to be as annoyingly quick as possible. Harassing opponents with fast spells and creatures. The deck is designed to get the Phoenix's back as often as possible and punishing the opponent in the process.

Flamewake Phoenix: One of my favorites, and most annoying Phoenix in my opinion. Vexing Devil, Koth, Flame-Wreathed Phoenix and even Teetering Peeks work all in perfect unison with this card. This gives the creature multiple ways to come back without much of a hassle.

Chandra's Phoenix: Just deal some damage with a red instant, sorcery or Planeswalker and right back to the hand it goes. This forces my opponent to really think when I activate Browbeat as well. No matter what happens, I'll get a card to my hand. Working well off Koth as well from his -5. Naturally, working well off all my burning instant cards.

Quest for Pure Flame: With a deck full of burning instants, haste and flying creatures, the tokens pile up quickly. This can create some chaos specifically with Vexing Devil, Browbeat (players never want to take 8-10 damage for them) on top of all the creatures and instants, it gets nasty pretty quickly.

Reforge the Soul: Some people asked me why this was here. I run out of a hand rather quickly, and its nice to have a brand new hand to deal massive amounts of damage. As much as this may help an opponent at times, its almost always beneficial for me, which has resulted in me winning multiple games because of it.

The Instants and Sorceries: You maybe noticed that as far as red modern decks go, I'm missing a lot of staples. Well, the reason why those are missing is I prefer having the choice of targeting the player or creatures. I found that, though the damage output is slightly lower, it gives me much more control of the game.
