usually the game is so fast that life gaining shouldn't matter, but i can see why you might want that card.
elvish berserker would be a good card in that deck
Storm cards would be awesome in this deck and so would Djinn iluminatus.
i know its adding red(unless you can get it in you opening hand... wow) but leyline of lightening would give this a lot more punch. Look at some hellbent cards as you will probably cast all the cards in your hand early on.
Be careful that some one doesnt play eradicate on one of your lands that you have turned into a creature. quite a nasty effect.
