Deck Description

Okay, you've all seen the quillspike-druid combo, but this is just my version. It's definitley illegal, but it gives you so many options for inifinite combos... and it's really fun to play.

Combo 1: Get quillspike and devoted druid onto the battlefield. Then, tap devoted druid for mana, take the counter off with quillspike and get +3/+3 until the end of the turn. This process can go on forever, giving quillspike infinite power. Then you could use rite of consumption to deal your opponent infinite damage and gain infinite life. This can be played by the third turn or second turn if you add dark ritual. The odds having the cards on the third turn needed to complete this combo is about 11/27.

Combo 2: Get quillspike and Altar Dementia onto the field along with either soldevi Adnate or Basal Thrull. Let's say Basal Thrull was played. Use Cauldron of Souls or Cauldron Haze to give it persist. Sacrifice Basal Thrull adding one black mana to the mana pool. This causes your opponent to put the top card of his library into his graveyard. Since Basal Thrull has wither, it will come back to the field with a -1/-1 counter on it. Use the black mana produced by sacrificing it to allow quillspike to remove it. Then sacrifice again, causing your opponent to put the top card of his library into his graveyard. Repeating this process will cause your opponenet to mill. This combo could be played on the fourth turn or third turn with dark rituals. The user has about a 9/14 chance of recieving the correct cards by the fifth turn.

Overall, this deck has some great combos that have a relatively high draw chance. It costs around $33.

Having Cauldron Haze & The Cauldron of Souls in the deck seems a bit like overkill. I would reduce one or the other. Also, have you considered Heartmender (green/white), some card drawings (Harmoize, Sign in Blood, etc) for the deck? The tutors are nice, but you may find too many in hand slowing you down at times. Some creature removal might help the deck a little bit too. Good luck. :)

I agree with the cauldron of souls comment because it costs five mana while cauldron of haze only costs two. The thing is that the second combo completely relies on wither, and there wasn't a cheaper card that gave wither to your creature. Also, heartmender wouldn't be a bad idea, but it only works at the beginning of your upkeep, so it would not allow infinite combos to work. Harmonize totally makes sense, and I'll see if I can work it in. Thanks for commenting!

Rite of consumption is an amazing card. Great combo with the devoted druid and quillspike, truly this is fun and so fast it could be scary. Out of curiosity, what is the probablilty of the rite / druid / quillspike draw if you mulligan as well? Making a deck around these two is a great deal of fun. Unfortunately like my "Eat Fast!" deck, it is preventable with a simple terror, unsummon, counter, or anything else i can think of. I do, however, love this combo.

To answer your question, it's about 14%. That doesn't factor in any tutors.

You are just wrong on so many levels here. The infinite combo with persist doesn't even work (not sure why you called it wither). Once the creature you gave persist to goes to the graveyard and comes back, it no longer has persist. Second, when you sac the thrull for black mana you don't mill them for the cards. You would have to sac it to the altar for that. Would help if you have basic understandings of the rules before posting.
