Deck Description

After all this time I am not even sure what inspired me to build this deck. Something about control, and establishing it with nothing but enchantments seemed appealing, I guess. Back then I didn't realised, that one can not easily invent something new, there is always someone that had already thought about it... I believe I had played MTG for about two years back then!? So my knowledge of existing decks, and where to find them was limited, and I was more focused on my own ideas, rather then copying others.

The deck had some iterations. It was even selesnya once!
But since I built a mono black control deck, I wanted to stick with mono white.

It is a powerful deck! But sadly not fast enough, and too easy to interact with in modern.

A funny story:
I once played with this deck on a FNM. Easily winning the first match (I believe!?), just to find myself playing against a mono white angel-lifegain deck.... WITH 6 ENCHANTMENT BOARD WIPES MAINDECK....
I asked what was the reason for this strange decklist (who needs that many enchantment boardwipes...). As a matter of fact his son played a deck with many enchantments, and he used his janky decklist on this FNM because that's why...
I lost that day every following match, so it appears any really fast deck just wipes the floor with this deck, but anyway, that very moment was very memorable XD

How to Play

Slowing down enemy creatures, getting some life, exiling and destroying them, all while feeding myth realized. He is our early and midgame beater, while we take care of threats, he grows with every noncreature spell we cast. We hide behind story cyrcle and runed halo, until either myth realized has won the game (rarely happens...), an unbeatable lock was established (sphere of safety on top of the already mentioned cards) and the opponent forfeits, or we enter a cycle of ever repeating removals and a horde of enchantments that have become creatures with starfield of nyx. The fact, that the enchantments become creatures probably has lost me as many games as I have won because of this card ... -.-
Technically those aren't even the main methods to win the game....
Sigil of the empty throne and luminarch ascension are our finishers, but it appears I dont play this deck enough to really be able to enjoy such a victory even once :/

Turn one try and always start with myth realized! Only if it is a aggro matchup we prefer authority of consuls.
Turn two, if it is not an aggro matchup, birth of meletis is a solid play, ramping us, and providing that sturdy wall to hide behind :D
Turn three goes whatever fits the board. Usually some removal is in order, or we play a second myth realized, authority of consuls, or birth of meletis.
If we are not in imminent danger playing a story circle can prove to be very powerful! But only if there is no imminent threat, since we can't use story circle up until our next turn. The modern format proves to be so fast, that a story circle turn 3, without any immediate impact on the board, is like a death wish o.O

Noteworthy is porphyry nodes and its synergy with heliod. Porphyry nodes is not meant to be played early on! it has a bad synergy with birth of meletis and would target our wall first of all :/ The spell is more like a lock in the midgame, making it impossible for the opponent to establish a creature presence, because porphyry nodes never leaves the battlefield, as long as heliod is present! (he is indestructable, so porphyry nodes cannot remove him, and if we have enough devotion for him to be a creature, porphyry nodes will not leave the battlefield).
