Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Creatures (6)

Instants (2)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

The idea is to limit your opponent keeping creatures on the field. Using either creature destruction/removal or having them sacrifice to keep Desecration Demon from swinging or blocking.

Side board is running Illness to help handle token decks and their ability to overrun the battlefield. Crypt Ghast can be swapped for Balustrade for help with mana ramp, well as Verdant Haven. I'll take suggestions for more cards to add/swap.

Ideally Shock lands would be run, and of course would recommend using them. Standard lands are listed for the budget conscience. Guild gates are of course a slower alternative but not a bad choice either. I did limit to the Return to Ravinca set, simply because here shortly Innistrad and 2013 will be rolling out of standard. Giving this a longer shelf life in the Standard legality.

How to Play

Early on, use your creature removal and Loxodon Smiter to keep their battlefield empty. Late game shoot for running Corpsejack and Desecration Demon for the combo, and to end the game. Soul Tithe, Abrupt Decay, and High Priest of Penance can all be used to remove enchantments, artifacts, and equipments the opponent may run.

Deck discussion for Atypical JUNK Midrange

Hmm atypical indeed but it has it's merits. I'm curious why you have Balustrade Spies, how do they benefit you? Killing Glare seems iffy for me too, just because there are things like Thragtusk in standard still with high powers. Corpse jack Menace seems slightly out of place here. Sure he's a 4/4 for 4 mana but that all he's likely to be; the only creature that gets counters is Desecration Demon.
I think that moving the Cryptgasts to the main board for the Balustrade Spies would be very beneficial. Maybe think about adding Varolz for the Menaces?

Taking all of that into consideration I've made the following changes: Dropped Balustrade Spies moved Crypt Ghast from the side board, Dropped CorpseJack for Deathrite Shaman, Killing Glare was dropped in favor of Mutant's Prey. I've also added Korozda Guildmage, Sin Collector, and Underworld Connections to the side board.

Thanks for the input.

That all looks good but would Pit Fight be better than Mutants Prey? You could use it to fight with a Smiter or use the High Priest to kill a mana dork and Angel of Serenity or any other big creature at instant speed.
