Deck Description

Owl Control Deck. Pretty simple really, main objective is to deny other players creatures/spells and slowly peck away at them with the owls each turn.

CREATURES
-------------------
Best thing is all of the creatures are 2 drop, so quick to get out and start doing damage. Downside is they are all 1/1 or 1/2, but I wanted to stick only with the owl theme as much as possible. The Scry abilities help to get the cards I want out quicker, give me some foresight for future turns and adjust game plans if needed.

ENCHANTMENTS
-------------------------
- Fowl Play
Certain species of Owls have been known to kill and and eat chickens, so I thought I would add this card in to remove large creature threats and easily kill them off when attacking while still keeping in theme. Plus the flavor text is cool :)

SPELLS
------------
- Boomerang and Vapor Snag
Cheap and easy to get rid of threat creatures before attacking and the sting of opponents losing life with the vapor snag is an added bonus.

- Counterspell and Psychic Barrier
Great spells just to quickly get rid of those annoying spells stop things before they start. Again the added sting of losing life with the Psychic Barrier is great.

- Divination
In combination with the Scrying creatures, this will help me get the cards I need out quicker. Little expensive mana-wise, but better than most I could find.

- Gather Specimens
Helpful to steal big nasty creatures when they come into play to help my cause and hopefully fill the void my creatures have left in the dealing damage department.
Wasn't sure to go with this or Favorable Winds (Creatures you control with flying get +1/+1). Want to get some play-testing done to see if it is worth keeping this in or swapping it out. On the plus side it has a giant owl in the artwork ;)

LAND
--------
Since most of my cards are pretty low cost, thought that 20 lands should be enough to keep creatures flowing while still having mana left over between turns for the counter.

Deck discussion for Control Owl

This deck seems like a real hoot...
Fowl Play is a fun addition and I like the Gather Specimens card.
Wondering how often the Ebony Owl Netsuke would work?
You may want to look into another counterspell like Psychic Barrier or go for something that lets you draw the cards that you have been scrying when the owls enter the battlefield
Gravitational Shift could be a good one as it will give your owls +2 to attack and -2 to your opponents non-flyers.

Card Draw
Divination/Counsel of the Soratami - Draw two cards.
Mind Unbound - At the beginning of your upkeep, put a lore counter on Mind Unbound, then draw a card for reach lore counter on Mind Unbound.
Train of Thought - Replicate {1}{U} (When you play this spell, copy it for each time you paid its replicate cost.) Draw a card.

Scry and Draw
Ponder - Look at the top three cards of your library, then put them back in any order. You may shuffle your library. Draw a card.
Foresee - Scry 4, then draw two cards.
Preordain - Scry 2, then draw a card.

Thanks for the feedback mate! I like Psychic Barrier with the extra sting on the counter. Since most my creatures Scry, Divination seems really handy, think Ill swap out the Ebony Owl Netsuke and shuffle a few cards around to fit them in.
