Ive tryied to make a curse deck my main deck.
And based on my tests with curse decks, you only need 4 misfortunes, 2 of thirst, and 1 bloodletting. Get 1 copy of deaths hold, and your set.

I made a BR vampire/curse deck... vampire for early and midgame , and curses to eventually endgame.
Worked very nicely and it was better then a control-curse deck.

Based on my tests:

moved 1 slagstorm to sb and add 1 norns annex to main deck, that way you get some better prottection to mid and heavy creatures based decks, while you keep the life pressure and dont get that much drawback as a slagstorm can be here (3 damage clear your table as well but 4/4 huntmaster)

And it fits very nicely with manabarbs and the idea of the deck. I have to admin I was almost thinking about making it to main deck, but gonna put it to side for now.

I can say you that with the current mana, it hardly have problems with mountains.
Having one usable forest in turn 1 usually makes all the difference because of elves/birds.

but I can also try it out with evolving yes. I will update you with results soon!

Also, the top problem I´ve found for him atm is BW Tokens. Norn´s Annex helps a lot vs aggro and naturalize > combust I dont usually need to kill creatures, just nuke player as fast as I can. Naturalize makes things fun because when he oblivion ring my manabarbs (taking 3 damage) I can use all my lands and just naturalize it back to him giving me a free lands turn, or helping with intangible virtue/honor of pure.

hmmm 24 lands... yeah, I had it in first one, but I decided to just cut 2 lands and add some draws with think twice.

cutting Snapcaster is something I didnt wanted, since its a super nice card... but I might test with 3.

Increasing ambition is there to get what you need to finish the combo. Saved me in numerous matches, I can tell you.
Also if you have a rooftop storm into play, increasing ambition becomes a green sun zenith! (and you can grab 2 cards using snapcaster on it) -> rooftop + grimgrin if bad luck.

Thank you for your report.
Well, Im testing the deck the way it is, and I can tell you that rooftop is something that I usually like when it comes into play, since it let me play and do the combo w/o tapping any mana, saving for counters or removals. Mana would be a problem in this deck w/o rooftop. (also its probably the card I grab with Increasing Ambition. This one, or grimgrin, depends on wich one doesnt come to my hand.
Also, if I have a rooftop into play, increasing ambition becomes a Green Sun Zenith, pick up your creature and put into play.

But this deck will probably get stronger with Avacyns release.

The deck is a bit slow yes, but thats why I put control on it. =)

Interesting, but I would suggest another list.
I myself am using another zomntrol deck.

its a nice call, but I think that in the 4 mana curve you have Manabarbs , Huntmaster and Hellrider... Manabarbs is one of the reasons of the deck, Huntmaster make the same effect as Mondronen (ok, its 4/4) but gives 2 life and a 2/2 when enters the game, and hellrider has that haste and damage for each attacking creature. So makes hard to fit your creature into the deck.

But that would be a nice call if people want to test the deck w/o paying that much money for huntmasters yes.

add 1 rooftop storm
add counters
add removals
add snapcaster mage
add secrets of the dead
add gravecrawler.

gravecrawler + grimgrin + secrets of the dead + rooftopstorm = endless draw, so you can draw till you get that laboratory maniac into your hand, place it and keep looping till you draw your last card and end game.

I usually dont use the laboratory maniac, I use the diregraf captain version... so you kill with 20 life loss.

if immerwolf is a problem for huntmaster... remove immerwolf and add huntmaster :D jk

well, check my RG Manabarbs option... its not werewolf deck... only ww I use is Huntmaster =P
but its an aggressive deck, different of those ramp or ww around.

ok, to make you happy, I added 1 mountain and removed 1 forest.
now I have 14 cards that can generate red mana. Now gotta test on how often I wont be able to cast birds turn 1.

well, about the red lands I would disagree, since I have birds in the deck and its way more important to get earlie forest then a montain (elves, birds, ooze, geist).
you dont need to put those shocks and incinerate in earlie game, you can save it till turn 3 or even after you land manabarbs since its 1 mana for 2 damage, or 2 mana for 3 damage.
If I change the mana proportion, lot of games you will have elves and wont cast em turn 1 because there will be only mountains in your hand. Also, lot of games you might have troubble to cast ooze and even maybe geist.

Forest > Mountains earlie , thats y I keep that proportion.

Yes, they usually dont remove or counter curse of pierced heart, neither the direct damage. But EVERY card in this deck is a problem and if you accumulate it, its a LOT of pain hehe. When your oponent realize, it is too late and all he has to do is hope that I draw only lands to give him some time to do something (if for some reason he countered manabarbs).

Even those birds and elves, endgame can do some troubble with hellrider.
