I see you went for 0 casts almost across the board. But you left out some good stuff like broodstar.
I've been running this deck for a little while. Runs quite well

a self mill deck can work both ways, just depends on how the game progresses. but if your goal is a straight up self mill you shouldnt need all the creatures besides mirror mad, deranged assistant, and lab maniac (obviously) ya need ponder and visions of beyond to get the cards you need faster. with a vensers journal ya got life gain and no max hand size. build your hand to 10 or higher and use jaces archivist to discard your hand and you and your opponent draw the same amount discarded. teamed with jaces erasure you could discard 10, draw 10, then discard 20. 40 cards in one shot, two jaces erasures would end the game keep increasing confusion, dream twist, thought scour. and 4 of every card except mirror mad.

this is my self mill http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=255873

4 maniacs, 4 archivists, and a journal is all you need to mill yourself out in no time. do you only play standard decks or do you like casual play as well?

id drop black completely and get 4 Jaces archivists in there as well as vensors journals for unlimited hand size and life gain to stall until you can mill yourself. teamed with some more draw cards its a nasty combo. not only are you milling yourself but your opponent as well. i tried putting creatures in mine that have practical use but it never worked fast enough and what happens if you mill what ya need? i use mine more so as pawns and extra mill so if i mill them its only a small loss. also if you check out my decks i like to build 10 spell decks with 4 of each spell in most of my decks. or as close as i can come to it. that way i can take advantage of one or two possible combos and i have a very high chance of getting them fairly quickly.

the chances of that happening are pretty low, BUT could still happen. i guess id just mulligan. i also have a self mill deck that also works as a regular mill deck as well that has worked very well for me. mono blue, standard format. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=255873 i left a comment on your self mill

assuming i go first and got exactly what i needed - which has happened...
turn 1: island-tome scour- mill 5
turn 2: hedron crab, island, tome scour-mill 8
turn 3: ghost quarter, mill 3, sacrafice it to have them search, 2 archive traps for free, twincast to mill 26 for one, 39 total.
55 milled +7 for your opening hand+2 for your draw steps=64 total

You lose on turn 3. And games usually don't make it past turn 5 or 6. also, theres only 10 different spells in the entire deck. i WILL get what i need quickly.

and wtf would emrakul do?
