Young Pyromancer makes me think of SPARKY SPARK BOOM MAN, from Avatar: The Last Air Bender.

How to Play

With Young Pyromancer on the field, beast out those instants and sorceries with Goblin Electromancer and generate tokens.

Use intangible virtue to make them all stronger and barrage of expendables to deal extra damage using those tokens.

Drop Sphere of Safety to help protect yourself.

Riot control is your fog/lifegain.

Mother of..... this is a kool deck. If you weren't focusing on standard, i'd say throw in that storm card that gives you a bunch of goblins :P just for fun! XP jk, prob not. wouldn't work out all THAT well.

wouldn't storm this deck, he'd need to net zero or positive mana with every creature, to make a really fun storm. Otherwise, he'd storm for two or three tops. And only if that was a low end one like grape shot. Paradise mantle on gelectrode? Now' we're talking

No Ogre battle driver? No Guttersnipe? No delver? What's with the white anyhow?

Riot control gains life for all the creatures your opponents will have, not your's. Sure multi-player standard matches and what not. Yet that just raises more questions anyhow.

Guttersnipe wants this deck upside down and backwards. Plus, it deal damage to each opponent. So you'll do fine spotting him in. Drop the 8 enchants, you'll want draw spells like quicken and burn spells like searing spear. IF you ran cancel and dissipate, you wouldn't need riot control or saftey sphere. Not to mention, there is always aetherize.

Dropping the third color will help you with your mana. Intangible virture is cool, but' you'll just be using the elemental as cannon fodder anyhow. Weapon surge isn't going to be a whole lot of good late game, and isn't really a whole lot of good early game with your creature set anyhow. At best it allows you hit a 4/4 without too much trouble, but that opens you up for a lot of conditional removal...

In my point of view, weapon surge is a quick little buff, but next to nothing when you consider ogre battle battledriver. Searing Spear and pillar of lame are all great removal too. Oh and delver, delver is good. Get him. Augur of bolas too. Nivix cyclops. What ever you want really, but at least a playset of guttersnipe, and one from the list.

i support a lot of what he's saying. you should really focus on red and blue. use aetherize and the like to keep you in the game rather than trying to gain miniscule life for one turn. i would drop white, and trun this into a burn type deck. play delver too, a delver flip on turn 2 is just bad for any deck... spear is good, pillar is very useful for anti elves

The reason i went with white is a lot of decks run in main sideboard illness in the ranks, meaning my 1/1 elemental tokens will be instantly dead, i wont have them to do anything with, while guttersnipe is a great card, i wanted to more focus on the barrage side of it than the burn side. Believe me, if i had wanted to make a burn with pyromancer, i would have

illness in the ranks should hardly be an issue now that the superior ratchet bomb is in standard. It's better than illness by far.

why is elixir of immortality in this deck? It does absolutely nothing in this deck. I am unsure about pyromancer because I personally think cyclops is by far the superior card in his RWU shell. Even then guttersniper should be in this deck the way it's in the cyclops deck. He adds a clock to the opponent. Personally I would try to make a UR delver pyromancer deck and use a ton of spells so you can hopefully cantrip. Probably run counterspells and such as well. Splashing white does nothing other than adding terrible cards. You didn't even run any of the charms which would be perfect in this deck for card draw.

he added elixer simply for the ability to add any used cards to his deck, plus that extra 5 life can be a real lifesaver. yeah there are better cards out there he could use, but he says why he made this deck based around pyromancer already, so why are you even complaining?

I wasn't complaining I was giving him advice on how to make his deck better. Right now his entire deck is based around pyromancer and if he doesn't draw it or it gets killed he has no way to win. His deck literally has no other threats. The other decks like cyclops run additional threats like geist, or guttersnipe so they don't get blown out by a random slaughter games or removal. He doesn't even have protection for the creature he plans to win with. Just a ton of stall enchantments that will eventually still lose if he can't get his pyormancer to stick. And if elixir is obviously bad then ditch it. No reason to add it in the main unless he plays against a ton of mill then it's a meta call. But it's just so random. It's better in the sideboard. If it's not a sorcery or instant it better have a good reason to be in the main deck and it isn't right now.

im with GyKx on this. the deck is meant to be fun to play with, not to win with. hell i made a deck designed around using [Rod of Spanking] to literally paddle my opponent into submission, and all it would take is a singel [Nevermore] to prevent that. its not about winning the game, its about having fun playing it. come back when you learn to enjoy the game for the sake of playing

So basically if any kind of criticism is given to this deck that doesn't make it sound like it's god's gift to magic people all rush to defend it. Interesting. All the other comments are about how awesome this deck is. But the few posts people try to help the deck everyone goes out of their way to protect the deck because it's fun. What's funny is that I am all for casual decks. I offered ideas to make the deck better that are also budget like delver and guttersnipe and tell him to drop the third color but apparently this means I am an extremely competitive elitist person because I dare give advice on an otherwise perfect deck.

No it was the way you went about telling me how to change the deck. if you had said it more politely and in a more respectful manner the reaction you had received would have been different. I understand there are cards and manners to change and improve the deck. I agree guttersnipe would be amazing in here but that's not the way i wanted the deck to play, if it was, i would've changed it immediately.

Like for example, my hobo elves deck. Its fun, quick, and no lands. It was on the hot page for a while.

One can turn up to a PTQ with a random deck and do well, I saw a guy do just that with Maze's End. But players like me hunt for fun AND powerful decks, my Jund deck was stupid amounts of fun, but in the wrong hands was a dickish deck! I think if the deck can be improved it should be, obviously trying to stick to the main theme, so the fun decks become strong enough to do well, because this deck really would get ripped apart in any format, be it a GP or a fun game at a local store. This might just be the way my local store molds players but we all have a lot of fun and always help each other have fun and be competitive.

I'm sorry but that is still terrible, why don't you make it Nivix aggro with Young Pyromancer as he gets extra guys while the cyclops gets pumped! Really it should be using Shocklands if this is the competitive version.

Definitely only sideboard worthy in my opinion. What do you think of Jace AT or M14 Chandra, and if you really want to pump up barrage assemble the legion is just so powerful, it just locks out your opponent so quickly!

Why dont you use Phyrexian Mana spells? Or something like Past in Flames? Also since youre playing R/W, you could play Rally the Peasants. And maybe instead of Wear and Tear you could play Sundering Growth.
Removing the 2 overcosted enchantments named Sphere of Safety could net you 2 more lands which are pretty important.

Well its nice if it works for you, would never work where i play. Before i could play a 5 mana enchantment with 20 lands i would be probably dead or someone drew into something like an Acidic Slime or something.

I disagree because American Enchantments slows down aggro and doesn't let you cast that slime. It locks aggro down completely and lets assemble the legion do its work. The only time I've lost to a deck like this is when they have dropped sphere and I don't have enough mana or guys due to all the enchantments removing my team, so pretty much its a staple of enchantments and will get even better when Theros comes out.

gather the townsfolk or krenkos command is nice with pyromancers. 3 creatures for 2 mana plus the faithful hour of gather every now and then isnt a bad bonus either
