Deck Description

this was inspired by the blue moon deck from the 20014 modern pro tour. Since then, modern has changed a lot, and the deck fell from the spotlight. With these changes I've seen great results, and I hope to see myself or another deck like this winning big tournaments!

It's blue/red Aggro, and centers around the monastery swiftspears, young pyromancers, and control.

How to Play

Win conditions:
Monastery swiftspear: once you get the spells rolling, this thing gets HUGE! And with the most expensive non-creature spell being a 3-drop, that's not hard to do. Attach a sword to this, and it will roll right through your opponent's defenses. if you allow them to have any, that is.

Young pyromancer: with the instant and sorceries being 2 or less to cast, and half of them allowing you to draw to obtain more spells, it's not hard to amass a small army of 1/1 tokens to sweep your enemies.

Delver of secrets: if you get a few of these in play and flipped early game, it tears though your opponents life with a possible turn two 3/2 flyer. Add the deck's ability to keep your opponents field clear, and it will be a swift game, and another win in your pocket.

Honorable mention:
Gitaxian probe: I can't stress enough how often this card has turned the game on its head. For potentially no mana, another trigger for your swiftspears and pyromancers, and what? Draw a card too? Their have been a few occasions where this has led into a chain of drawing and playing spells when I needed it the most. Drawing into serum visions and into more one drop spells is the most exhilarating feeling! And the more you play, the more your swiftspears and pyromancers grow.

............................

I have played in quite a few modern tournaments with this deck already, and have placed 1st or 2nd in all of them. Including against all the big decks in modern. Between the main deck and the sideboard, this deck has an answer for everything. And it's super fun to play!
