use any of the spells that cost life to get life low or in negative if you have lich's tomb and then use death's shadow (and repay in kind if you are in negatives).use creatures as sacrifices to fuel your large life costing spells as mana with altar.

Platinum Angels May trump the tomb's drawback... although perhaps they would be easier to kill because they're creatures. The repay in kind is killer, so all in all very nicely done.

I would recommend Ashnod's Altar because it generates 1 more mana than phyrexian altar, even though its colorless I think its better.

Pretty cool deck. I like how with all the death in this deck, a bunch of rats scurry around. This sounds pretty fun to play. For the rats, I'd suggest Marrow Gnawer and maybe also...Crypt Rats.
