Deck discussion for Cheap Legacy Burn

Try Flame Rift or Lava Spike. If you decide to go more creature-heavy, try Keldon Marauders.

Check out my legacy deck, thanks!

i would add in shrine of burning rage, its perfect for a burn deck

I debated that, but honestly I think three mana to set it off is just too much. For this deck, you don't want to be wasting three mana to do anything that won't win you the game, and holding back three is just going to slow you up.

i have a mono red deck and shrine of burning rage has won me ALOT of games, i would at least sideboard it, everytime you cast a red instant or sorcery you put a counter on it and every upkeep you put a counter on it, by turn 6 it can have 15+ counters on it if you know what your doing, there are alot of cards out there that will copy an instant or sorcery when you play it and allow you to choose a new opponent to direct it at, thats three counters at least in a single turn, not to mention if you have cards like lightning bolt or galvanic blast, you could do alot of damage really quickly and then you tap three and you do even more damage, 15+ counters is 15+ damage for the price of three mana and a sacrificed shrine of burning rage, i think its definitly worth it

After testing a bit, I can definitely say that it's just too much mana. I hope to not see turn 6 with this deck at all. Maybe sideboard if they're a deck that can slow me down, I do have room in there. Thanks for the input!

You say this deck isn't top tier but in truth it is VERY close. The changes you need to make are very minor. Basically take Blakroc's advice and you will be set. Your amount of land is fine but could go to 18 if you really feel the need to cut land.

Reverberate and Seal of Fire that are out of place in this deck. Replace them with lava spike and Flame Rift and possibly up the number of Fireblast and you are good to go. Reverberate doesn't stand on its own and is awful disapointing to top deck when you are only 1 burn spell away from winning. Seal of fire is too slow and weak for legacy IMO.

Keldon Marauders are also very effective.

Here is my very similar burn deck that has been a real force at my local group.

Good luck with the deck!

Seal of fire is basically my ghetto Barbarian ring. It's actually kind of nice; you pay one red, and can do 2 burn any time you want later on. It's certainly not a super-star, and I'll probably swap it out for something like Flame Rift, but until I can snag some they'll stick around.

I think I've got just the right number of creatures here, but I might switch out a Devil or two for the Marauders after testing.

Reverberate has actually won me a bunch of games. Three is probably too many, but it's pretty excellent to float two red, sac the tapped mountains to fireblast and then reverberate it for 8 damage. It's also really useful for countering counters.

I'll try to do some testing without them, maybe throw in lava spikes.

Anyway, thanks for the input!

Really? At least the Hellspark has trample for if they have a creature out and you can unearth him, but three mana for a very situational five damage isn't really in the spirit of the deck, whereas the lavamancer has control or burn options and only costs one to bring out.
