Deck Description

Stomp and stopThe theme of this deck is to prevent the opponent from being able to do anything. Control the battlefield.

The idea is to prevent the opponent from being able to attack with cards like "Cessation", "Cage of Hands", and "Prison Term". I use these because everyone one of them allows me to readjust it to another creature if it needs be. "Thunderstaff" and "Silent Arbiter" are in the deck to prevent creatures that I may not be able to target with spells to do real massive damage.

The creatures in this deck are limited, but all unblockable with "Æther Figment" and "Hunted Phantasm". Of coarse I would watch how I play the "Hunted Phantasm's" due to their heavy Goblin army donation. But if a "Silent Arbiter" or "Thunderstaff" is in play, I can prevent most of their effect (given they don't have a lot of 'creature +1/+1' etc.).

If things get through I could snap my opponents permanents to their hand with "Boomerang", "Eye of Nowhere", "Barrin's Unmaking", and "Capsize". These are all decently low casting cost. If possible, I would play "Limited Resources" and start bouncing their land back to their hand, while playing my own. 12 land in this deck give me dual color options to use, with only 8 of them having to be played tapped.

I put more control in the sideboard in case things get sticky. If I find the opponent has a lot more untargetable creatures, I could play "Gossamer Chains". If I need more bounce, I could use "Regress". If I need more creatures I could use more "Silent Arbiter", "Hunted Phantasm", "Abduction", or "Threads of Disloyalty".

Option: I have considered putting "Volrath's Curse" in the deck somewhere, but seems to be an easy way around the prevention/stop, then again, the "sacrifice permanent" may indeed help out.

Option: I could remove the "Thunderstaff's" for two more "Silent Arbiter's" to prevent even the bonus'

Option: I could remove, say, "Dream Leash" and "Threads of Disloyalty" for something like "Echoing Truth". This would help with bouncing more then one creature, or removing all of the goblin tokens.

Option: "Faith's Fetters", "Orim's Prayer", and "Recumbent Bliss". They all help gain life and the Bliss and Fetters would both help with preventing creature attacks... as well as the possible activated ability prevention with the Fetters, but I lose the 'move option' control, unless I self bounce... or add "Cloudstone Curio" which could help readjust every non-artifact permanent if I'd like. hmm.

Deck discussion for Beating Blocker

Also, let me know how I could make a smiliar themed deck in standard format out of curiosity. I've been out of the game too long and only went with what I knew and was given.
