You need some control, or to speed the rats up. Splash green for golgari. Descendants path, abrupt decay, etc. Look at some of my golgari decks for ideas. You could splash blue for call to the kindred and then you could have mana leak and other cheap blue options to deal with spells the opponent is playingSevered Strands is great too, some life gain from your rats and you get to destroy a creature.
