Deck Description

The idea for the deck was quite simple; I wanted value for cost and put as much value for low mana cost with the sultai colors within a reasonable price into the same deck.

It's really fast to get going, has a variety of fun mechanics and control and with the help of Prophet of kruphix, Cavern harpy and either Baleful Strix and Coiling you can get a nice defense and card advantage going (you can just bounce the Cavern harpy to your hand to get a free "indestructible" blocker, and if you have Dire undercurrents out, each time you play the creatures you get even further ahead.)

How to Play

Turn 1: Plan an Essence warden if you're against an aggro deck and feel you need the HP, a Deathrite Shaman if you know someone else is going to use Sac lands to give you the option for free mana or a tapped land to enable the turn two play with an untapped land.

Turn 2: As you can see in the mana curve, the deck spikes in power turn 2 and almost every card is playable by then. If able, play a Coiling Oracle to try to hit a land. If you do, you're already ahead in mana and if you don't, you get a new card to cast later. Win win situation. If you don't have one, cast Baleful Strix, really really powerful and cheap card, makes the opponent(s) hesitate with anything but 1/1's because of the deathtouch and since it's already given you a new card it's a free trade.

Turn 3: If you have another land that comes in untapped, play that. Tap two lands to play a Cryptolith Rite, then tap the last land and the creature to play another 2 drop creature, or an Essence Warden/Deathrite Shaman if you did not have an untapped land. If you did not have another land that comes in untapped, you could just play a tapped land and play another creature to get more tap value next turn from Cryptolith Rite.

Turn 4 and beyond: Once you've tried the deck out a bit you get a nice hang of it. It's really fun to mess around with, even though it's not a very competitive deck. Hope you like it!
