FNM playable?

I feel like biomass mutation and faerie impostor are not good in this deck. Biomass late game isn't going to do much if you're manipulating your counters how you should be and faerie impostor you're not gonna wanna play most of the time because returning a creature to your hand will remove the counters you've been adding to that creature. I'd add some control or card draw, you only have 1 prime speaker to draw and no control at all. I'd also add a prophet of kruphix or two because its an awesome card.

with biomass mutation the counters on your creatures are add on to the effect + im still researching trying to find some thing better in standard im probably going to end up waiting for -born of the gods

Kalonian Hydra works well with this deck. Would also keep you standard.

I agree that thing is a tank. I use it in my sonic evolve deck in standard. It does me well

i have no intentions for using kalonian hydra because my local hobby store doesnt have any and i feel that control is going to better in the deck

Definitely go with what works best for you, just wanted to mention it since it would work well with adding counters and is only a 5 drop for such a beast of a creature.

Just a tad too slow for aggro, and no control whatsoever yee. is it a budget deck?

I'd look into bioshift and Mistcutter Hydra

maybe the bioshift but if i were to put in mistcutter hydra for the vastwood hydra i would lose my mid game 2 drop

Personally, I would rather have haste and pro blue. Also Gyre sage, Voyaging Satyr, Elvish Mystic, Sylvan Caryatid or Karametra's Acolyte will give you a little mana ramp

why would i need mana ramp for a max of 4 mana of the exception of prime speaker zegana

Because having a little extra mana doesnt hurt. Your call though. Just threw this together http://www.mtgvault.com/dharr16/decks/simic-standard-4/

i realy dont awnt to be ramping into 1-4 drops

Its a five drop that untaps all of your mana and allows a flashed in creature on their turn...but Ito each their own

but it could be a good sideboard trick

I defend the Prophet for every UG deck. She essentially gives you an extra turn during your opponent's turn. Your turn, cast all those noncreatures (Like Jace, D-Sphere, etc), then untap during their turn, flash in creatures and/or Instant spells, then untap and continue on with noncreature, non-instant spells during your turn (Or cast them as well, if you need to). I love playing a Prophet at FNMs. It really upsets control players, it stops aggro decks, and when people realize you're pretty much taking their turn away from them, it's gg from there.

biomass mutation + master of waves. Sounds awesome :D doesn't it. :D

0

yes it is because when you use biomass mutation the +1/+1 counters from any given source will stay on that creature in addition to biomass's effect.

to high mana cost i would like to keep the mana cost reletivly constant

I'm confused as to what you're going for..? You only have one creature with evolve, and only 3 that come into play with counters including him; aside from biomancer's effect. So why's the mana consistency that much of an issue?

Right? Probably budget, running guildgates instead of temple of mystery and not running breeding pool at all. I mean kiora and vorel is nice because you can -1 sequentially or ultimate very quickly but besides that i dont get it. Doesnt have any control either besides bow of nylea and even that is super conditional

Yeah I don't get it.. I'm personally a huge fan of the new simic, and their evolve effect, but you really have to build the deck around evolve and +1/+1 counters to utilize that effect. Having only one evolve creature doesn't do any kind of justice for this deck.

Well experiment one isnt bad it usually survives board wipes, but casting mistcutter with no ramp is no bueno

0
Posted 02 January 2014 at 19:45

Yeah he's good, but it takes a minute to get him to be a "threat." I just feel as if you're going to use him, there should be more of a "Simic theme" Idk, it just bothers me lol. As for mistcutter, ramp wouldn't be much of an issue if you're using it just to kick off the evolve, considering it's only x(g). You can pretty much drop it in as big as you need it, though ramp would make it so much better. Once again though, not needed since there's only experiment one.

do you guys think this deck would be FNM playable? cause i might test it and im also thinking about pro tour Journey Into Nyx.

I hope thats not serious or are you trolling? Cuz not running kalonian hydra in a simic deck with the only controllish thing being nyleas bow is downright odd

Even mono green ramp with only hydras and mana dorks would be more efficient

I get not having kalonian since he's up to almost $20 last I checked, but yeah I just don't get this deck..

Without a sideboard, it's hard to rate this deck. I'm a big simic fan but without creature or enchantment control... Your playing a game of chance in the tourney environment. In my opinion, drop the savage summoning a and go with mana acceleration. Then you could run the Shrine to Nkithos (or whatever) for more mana. This deck needs more mana in order to draw cards. I like the 24lands but two shrines could help. Goodluck!

This looks better! You got my like:) the mana acceleration will push the deck a turn forward by turn five, so get ready to make some big plays;)
