Deck Description

hello,

im a standard player in New York City and im tired of Jund. thanks a lot for taking a look. your time is greatly appreciated. input on all levels is nice.

reminds me of rav/time spiral deck w/ angels and good removal

i like the U/W/R control deck and i wanted to try something a little different. losing the card draw does hurt but thats where the card advantage from the black will hopefully help. not sure about intimidation bolt. and yes im too poor for baneslayers.

Deck discussion for RWB Control [Standard]

Looks good but I am still not a huge fan of Luminarch, if anything I would change that. +1

I would go with slightly less creature control and slightly more early discard (maybe swap a few Paths to sideboard for some Duress?). That way you have more balance between the two main types of control. Also if you're going to be using a lot of discard as control, you may as well toss in a Megrim or two ;). Interesting deck idea though. +1

if not luminarch as a win condition, what? and im not 100% about the duresses MB but as i think the format is still dominated by creature agro, but the point of making the deck MB better against control will help with game 1.

thanks for the comments so far!

I like the luminarch ascensions, as you say they are your kill. I don't like the Mind Shatter, I think they will be pretty useless. Most of the time you will play them as an expensive mind rot. Only when you play versus control they might be good but then they should go into side. I would max out path and reduce day of judgement to 2.
Some kind of blocker like Wall of Denial will improve the deck. Bituminous Blast is pretty bad in this deck as your cascade is really unpredicatable and can cascade into a lot of useless stuff. Burst lightning would be better. In side I would prefer haunting echouse over identity crisis.

wall of denial is out of colors. i made some changes, tell me what you think. if this doesnt work i may just go back to U/W/R control but im trying to be different!

Looks good man. I think UWR is stronger though because of the much needed card draw. Also black isn't that important to your deck, you loose blightning and Thought Hemorrhage. so what.

The reason I suggested Wall of denial is because your previous build didn't have creatures, that's pretty strong against jund as their terminates and blasts become dead cards. Wall of denial doesn't remove that benefit due to shroud.
