Deck discussion for Red Burn

Guttersnipe would be better as more burn. Wild Guess is also pretty bad, unless youre getting mana swamped and can afford to pitch mountains.

Guttersnipe is in there. You might be right about Wild Guess though.

Yeah, Id ditch the wild guess. Im assuming this is a sort of budget deck by the looks, otherwise Chandra would be perfect for that slot. Also hammer of purphoros could be nice

i'd actually say you're too high on mana, for 7 4drops and 4 3drops and nothing else over 2. also, you may have some trouble with so many 2 damage burn spells (blood, shock, and jet). having to go 2 for 1 to kill a threat is hard on a burn deck ('cept for searing blood, nothing bad about 6 to the face and a dead creature). maybe a couple/three Mizzium Mortars, or a couple Volcanic Geysers would help you out in place of a couple shocks or a magma jet.

I've got a boros burn up now, have a look if you want. Lots of the same stuff. http://www.mtgvault.com/xeno411/decks/boros-burn/

Imo Oracle of Bones isn't top dog for what you want to do. I recommend Chandra's Phoenix in place of that dude, unless you want to run split cards which is what he fully takes advantage of because you can cast both halves for free. Another suggestion is to splash white. Boros Charm is a huge help, dealing 4 damage for 2 and with Satyr Firedancer on the battlefield it is insane. You would also have the option of dropping the sub-optimal Fate Conflagration for Warleader's Helix which can target players. If you want to keep mono red and run the Oracle, I recommend either Toil // Trouble, Turn // Burn, or Catch // Release.

Ive actually found Oracle to be a win/win card in my burn list, but I run Toil//Trouble out of the board, and that can be backbreaking.

Why wild guess?

Fated conflagaration doesnt fit the satyr firedancer theme, but its still good removal. However i think id rather have the more versatile mizzium mortars.

Nice deck! Its cool to see someone trying to bring back the old "Burn, Burn, Burn" red decks that used to be so cool. I love the use of Oracle of Bones, as well. Not paying the tribute could be a very big mistake indeed, particularly with Fated Conflagration.

Possible ideas for sideboard might be Skullcrack and/or Burning Earth. Possibly might want to consider something like Rakdos Cackler for main deck. Nice deck tho!

Thankyou all for the comments. Mizzium Mortars will almost definitely be making it's way into the deck. Upvotes all round!

Splash white and run warleader's helixes as well? I think I saw a deck list of R/W burn. It also ran chandra's phoenixes.

Oracle is an awesome card. I mean, if you have a Mizzium Mortars, from what I'm thinking, you would be able to cast it for it's overload for free.

this is incorrect. You cannot pay an overload cost on a card as a cost of casting it for "free"
