Deck Description

Tired of janky Izzet decks? Me neither! Here we go again!

How to Play

This is a mid game to late game deck. We're not pushing out crazy nivix cyclops madness in this game (but more power to you if you do!). We've got a slower more explosive plan in mind.

Ok here's the game plan:

Turns 1-4
Yeah that's right...Like I said we're not doing much early game. We've got some tools to stay alive though. We're gonna be dropping frostburn weird and boros reckoner to hold things down. If things get too crazy we're going to Anger of the gods and magma jet liberally. we're just trying to stay afloat from that nasty early agro.

Turn 5
Combo 1: You pass the turn. You're opponent raises and eyebrow at you, who passes on turn 5? you do that's who. He begins to laugh while dropping a desecration demon or whatever else. You don't care because it dosen't matter. At the end of his turn you flash in dictate of the twin gods, your opponent immediately begins sweating profusely, he's really scared now. You untap your mana and play your 6th land. You slowly turn all 6 by 90 degrees to the right and you reveal blast of genius and you point it at his face. You draw 3 cards. Then you show him the card you're discarding, it's catch//release. you point at the Dictate, he picks it up, he picks up blast of genius, he picks up catch//release. He dosen't understand how it works. After you explain it, he takes 18 damage and dies. Your deck explodes like a frag grenade made out of cardboard. Blood is everywhere, but you stand victorious.

Combo 2: You pass the turn. Same as before except on your turn you have a boros reckoner. You cast a fated conflag or riddle or blast on him for 5 damage. He doubles it up to 10 when he takes it to the face. Then it doubles again to 20 when he shoots it at your opponent. He picks up all of the cards. Yells "What is this garbage deck? who plays this at FNM? What's wrong with you. My deck is so much better than yours" He's really upset. You ask calmly if you can go report now. He replies "This is trash, thanks for ruining my standard season". You say "NP"

Otherwise: You've got alot of good value 5 drops. You can drop the dragon and begin a beats plan. You can stop a keranos and begin a value plan or you can drop the sphinx and begin the scry plan. Every plan has great interactions with your main plan of reducing their life to 0.

Sideboard is a work in progress. Looking for feedback on the deck in general and sideboard options.

I did consider enter the infinite instead of catch//release however the fact that catch//release is an actually playable card.... seems like it's going to work much better as you can sneak in that last 2 damage with it or potentially steal a planeswalker or creature for a turn and make a game winning move.

Thanks for reading!
