Deck Description

Naya. That's going to be the future of standard, and I think everyone knows it based on the high VoR prices. We also can't forget one of the biggest deck types at the beginning of the season - Bant Aura. I'm not sure how long it's going to take befo re people put their heads together and realize that naya and bant are just a color apart, and it's possible to combine the crazy cool creature interactions of naya with the aura's of bant.

Thus I present my second attempt at a "Naya Aura" deck -- Voice of Murder.

Now, I've already made a Naya Aura deck before, and it was incredibly powerful. The creature interactions were good enough that you could draw a hand with no aura's and still win the game. The interactions with Boros Reckoner using Domri's -2 to fight a creature and then deal damage to something else--the pairing silverblade and voice of resurgence to bait them into killing one of your creatures and getting an elemental. There's a lot to do with Naya, but it wasn't really enchantment focused as I wanted to be. This selesnya attempt focuses on a fairly different dynamic - Murder Investigation + Voice of Resurgence.

Murder Investigation onto Voice makes the game very difficult for your opponent. They already didn't want to kill the voice, but know they're in double jeopardy if they do. They're stuck facing down a giant elemental and army of creatures, especially after you tossed an unflinching courage, rancor, and ethereal armor onto it. The voice will spend a lot of time swinging uncontested through their blockers while you build up your army of enchantments.

The best part about this build is that 90% of the time people will assume you're running GWB aristocrats and leave the voice alone. While they're working around it, you pump the crap out of it with enchantments and make it a giant trampling lifelinker that they no longer know how to deal with. This means there's going to be a huge surprise element to your first game, probably leading to a win.

After that, you might just have to do a bit of naya-ing. Avacyn's Pilgrim can put down a smiter on turn 2 and advent on turn 3. Both are great things, especially with silverblade paladin around. Play your enchantments smart. Look out for control. And always go for the voice of murder when you can.

Hopefully you guys enjoyed my 2 cents on selesnya in standard, and I could really use all of your wonderful feedback! Comments and suggestions are appreciated!

Deck discussion for Voice of Murder

i like the idea. its really cool because its true. if you kill the voice with the murder then you have gained 2 1/1's and a 3/3 potiential for more... and also thats pretty lethal at some points ion the game. one card hats pretty hard for this deck to play around is supreme verdict and also aetherling . trostani is pretty much shit in this? wouldn't you agree? y not 4 voices? y not sunpetal groves? y not increasing savagery? and go ahead and make this naya for madcap skills and possibly ghor clan rampager

not sure about trostani being shit in this deck since its the only thing here that populates the VOR and advent of the wurm tokens AND is one of the only two ways to gain life in here. however i would say that this deck looks non competitive overall. blue/white are the killers for selesnya as i've seen it, unsummon pops tokens and bombs the enchantments magnificently, while exile/pacifism makes VOR a 50 buck waste for the most part unless you develop your tokens wayyyyy earlier, like no mana ramp. casual play though im sure this does well enough, just throwing my 2 cents out there
