Deck Description

A speedy infect deck designed to hit them hard and hit them fast.

With the right hand this deck is a 2 turn win. Opening hand required for this would be: 2x Forest, 1x Glistener Elf, 3x Mutagenic Growth, 1x Titanic Growth.
Turn 1: play Forest and Glistener Elf
Turn 2: play a second land (forest or island), play Titanic Growth, and then pay 6 life to play the 3 Mutagenic Growths. This makes Glistener an 11/11 infect creature who's ready to attack on turn 2 (and all are instants of course so can be cast in the battle phase =)

I also have quite a few cards that allow me to proliferate if I dont get all the damage in right away, and Phyrexian Swarmlord allows me to amass a swarm of 1/1 infect creatures later on in the game if I had a bad draw (hoping to aquire a second one soon, he acts as insurance for later on in the game)

Let me know what you think and if I can improve anything, this deck has been tweaked and adjusted more times than I can count, and I think it holds up very well. I'm hoping for tournament quality.

Deck discussion for fast U/G Infect

since this deck is trying to be fast i feel you would be better off getting rid of a few bigger creatures and adding more giant growths until they go out of rotation. Also if you can get a hold of some livewire lashes you can win without ever even hitting your opponent

i definitely agree, and the only reason i havn't put in more giant growth's is because I don't have any more lol. I've put in a lot of instants to buff creatures in the early game, the only reason I have a couple of bigger cards like Phyrexian swarmlord and Spinebiter is for insurance in the late game if I dont get the best draw. would definitely replace spinebiter and tangle angler with a couple of giant growths once i get a couple more, but I would still like to get myself another swarmlord. Getting him out works very well if I havn't had the best starting hand.

and the problem with livewire lash is that the damage it deals isn't in infect tokens. I feel like it would just slow down the deck. cheers for the input jonesy =)

I think the main point of livewire lash is for some creature protection. That's how I took it at least. You also get some control as you can assign two damage to take out opposing creatures. And of course to get a buff up +2 in toughness. Yeah... I'm not sure how I feel about throwing in an infect deck but I have seen many that have put it in their builds.

Nice deck man. I have a tweaked "Ravaging Swarm" intro deck... and am trying to get it a lot faster and a lot tighter. I really enjoy the infect mechanic... just need to put together a decent deck with what I have. Nice start here though, I like it! The deck I have as is, is far too slow.

Good stuff!

I think my instants do a better and faster job of buffing my creatures than equipments do, but if I was going to go with an equipment I'd probably go with something like gorgon flail (giving deathtouch would work well with my deck as my creatures are lower cost than most opponents and id be taking out their more powerful creatures and consuming more of their total mana than my own) or maybe an equipment to make them unblockable before i buff them with instants. Although i already have my unblockable blighted agents and my flying viral drakes, and spinebiter assigns his damage as though he wasn't blocked, so I'm not sure how useful that would be.

Why don't you upload your infect deck to mtgvault and I'll have a look at it and let you know what i think =]

Yes livewire lashs do help and yes they do damage in infect. The text says "Equipped creature gets +2/+0 and has 'Whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell this creature does 2 damage to target creature or player' " . Which basically means whatever text is in the creature card the "Whenever....." is added to it, so the creature does damage in the form of infect counters. Also if you dont seem to believe that here's another way of putting it, it is saying the creature is doing damage and well the text on the card says the creature does damage in the form of poison counters to players and in the form of -1/-1 counters to creatures. So however you look at it, it will work. It's just stuff to get past walls of creatures.

What is also good is the combo of Distortion strike and the livewire lash.
You play the distortion strike, the lash equipment effect goes off and you deal the damage then swing because it will become unblockable.
So lets say a glistener elf has the equipment, it's a 3/1 and with the equipment and you play the distortion strike. It becomes a 4/1 unblockable and now you have poison to dish out and choose the player. Right off the bat you got two on him then you swing, if the creature lives you already have 6 and at the beginning of your next upkeep the rebound lets you shoot him for more if the creature is still alive.
Just ideas to help ya out.
