Deck Description

I really wanted to play higher casting cost cards 4+, but I just wasn't sticking around long enough to see them go off. So I tried to reduce the curve, and that increased the mana available to extort.

I also found that I couldn't use blood scriveners effectively, it would take until turn 5 that I actually had an empty hand.

How to Play

I tried to reduce the curve in this orzhov deck, the lingering souls combined with Skirsdag high priest is the real threat early on, and just meant to get set up till turns 4 or 5 when you have the mana base to extort effectively.
Lots of removal spells, high priest of penance and Oblivion rings control the threats.

Deck discussion for Orzhov Extort

I feel like Vampire Nighthawk could take the place of Basilica Guards. Also I don't like Orzhov Charm, but that's just preference. Otherwise not bad :)

Yeah i think you are right about the vampire nighthawk, the extra lifegain would me stick around abit. I'm not sure about the dutiful thrull either, I rarely have the extra mana to regenerate him, maybe replace it with Doomed Traveler or Judge's Familiar? Though I'm kinda losing my extort options.

I actually run a very similar setup to what you have here, why don't you take a look at my extort deck. Maybe it will give you some ideas :-)

Yeah, your deck looks fun. Do you get good use out of the Blood scrivener? I might give them another go, I was so pumped on them at first, but I couldn't ditch my hand fast enough to make them useful.

I can hardly wait to get Immortal servitude and Killing wave in my next order, it will help recover from board wipes and creature floods.

Actually, Blood Scrivener is a recent change that I have yet to test. Until recently it was Sign in Blood. As for Killing Wave and Immortal servitude, those can be devastating!
