Deck Description

This deck was inspired by another favorite theme of mine; druids , wizards and magical forests. A favorite character archetype that I like to roleplay, is the druid/pet summoner character, that draws his powers from nature, and can command the beasts that inhabit the land. So I wanted to create a deck that captured the feel of a band of druids that have to call upon nature to aid them in their fight, using their knowledge of the arcane to ensure that their allies always have the upper-hand... or claw.

How to Play

The idea is to keep as many creatures in the fray as possible, removing them and re-summoning them to benefit from their triggered abilities as they leave/re-enter the battle field, either to add creature tokens, gain HP or bring spells back from the grave. Instants are used to maintain as much control of the battle field as possible, via counters and surprise buffs to turn the tides.

Deck discussion for Illusionary Forest

There reason to have any mountains in this and you really don't need arctic aven either.

Thanks for dropping by :D As for your comments:

1. Mountains are for Nightfall Predator's ability.
2. Arctic aven's are there for funzies. Extra blockers/attackers with flying, plus lifelink. I'll swap em out as I find alternatives.

I don't any Nightfall Predator. Also there are better alternatives to Artic Aven that don't put an unnecessary strain on your mana pool like Hover Barrier or Fog Bank for blockers, and Talrand's Invasion for cheap attackers.

Thanks for the suggestions :D Hopefully I'll come across a few fog banks (those always rock) and such through boosters or trading.

The Nightfall Preadator is the werewolf side of Daybreak Ranger. It requires a mountain to activate its attack ability. I know, it's better suited for a green/red deck, but I'm just trying it out for now. I'll shift it over to a green/red deck when I get around to making one.

Okay cool dude. The only I other piece of advice I have is to get some dual lands, those are super helpful and with the guild gates not hard to come by. Also good luck with your deck.

Dual lands are definitely on my shopping list. Thanks for the tip!

Update:

1. Removed Daybreak Ranger/Nightfall Preadator, because the 4 Mountains I put totally bogged down the deck. I knew it was a bad idea going in, but I just wanted an excuse to fiddle with my only werewolf card. I guess I'll be keeping it for a green/red deck.

2. I added a Courtly Provocateur, to keep with the wizards/magical creatures theme.

3. The deck plays at a nice pace, especially after removing that dang werewolf and its 4 mountains. So far its win/loss record is an even 2/2, with one loss being blamed on a lousy draw (spent the entire match drawing mana while my opponent ran right through me with his speedy spirit deck), and the other with me being completely outplayed. GG.
