Deck Description

Premise: Get out a Caged Sun and pump the crap out of your Ogres. Give them trample with swords for full effect. Plenty of other uses for excess mana built in (Blightsteel Colossus!).

Note: Replaced Volt Charges with Lightning Bolts
Replaced Thunder Strikes with Claws of Valakut
Removed Ferromaners and replaced with 1 Claws and 1 Lightning Bolt
Removed Panic Spellbomb and replaced with 1 Caged Sun
Replaced Lightning Bolts with Galvanic Blast when I found out how pricey they were.
Replace 2 Razor Swine with Palladium Myrs?
Replace 2 more Razor Swine with Palladium Mys?
Replaced Wrap in Flames and Galvanic Blast with Fireball

Deck discussion for Red Infection

The premise looks pretty interesting, but the tempo is way too slow. Slow is becoming the norm in standard, but even in slow match ups, the decks that play something first, second, and third turn are the ones that win. You don't really have much going for you early game.

This might run smoother if M12 brings back Fire Whip or Power of Fire.. etc. For now though, I think you should splash either black or green for more early game infect, black would also bring a bit of removal and control, and green would also bring more mana ramp.

Thanks for the input! I agree that it would benefit from some black and green, but the challenge for better or worse - was to create a mono-red infect deck.

Yeah it's definitely a slow deck. If you have any suggestions to speed it up I am open to them. One thought I had was to replace the Volt Charges with Lightning Bolts since the 2 extra mana to proliferate probably isn't worth it. I could also possibly add a couple Copper Myrs.

Oh and I wanted to point out a potential early game threat here: Ichorclaw Myr with a Claws of Valakut on turn 3. That's 4 poison counters or 6 first strike damage if blocked.
